Going vegan was the best thing I did. It taught me how to truly nourish my body. I learned that nourishing myself meant eating meat. After almost 5 years of vegan living, I ruined my health. Physically and mentally I wrecked myself. I wasn’t someone who ate junk, or did extreme detoxing… I ate all the beautiful bounty of plants, and took all the expensive supplements… so after the struggle of coming to terms with what my body was needing, I gave in and started eating butter and eggs…then chicken and fish and finally beef. After months into a heavy animal based diet with very little plant food… everything that was wrong with me… was gone! I still advocate for making animal welfare a priority in all aspects of my life… however my diet is meat based. I do my best with the money I have to buy quality food from quality sources, but for my body to thrive, I eat animals. It just is what it is.

You just almost told my story. Vegan for 5 years and my body completely fell apart. My bloods are terrible, my hair is falling out, mental health issues, fibromyalgia, malnutrition and severe peripheral neuropathy. Last week I was hospitalised twice with colitis. I’m devastated. The day before yesterday I ate an egg. Yesterday I ate meat for the first time in 5 years. From the first bite my body and brain literally said to me “We needed this so badly, why have you starved us for so long?!”.

I can so identify with this guy. Former vegan, blood in stools, IBS, joint pain, possible fibromyalgia diagnosis, never blaming the diet, doubling down, etc. All of this for sure. Thank you James for this story!

I went vegan for 3 years eating all organic whole foods. At the end of the 3 years I was at stage 3 kidney failure. My hair was thin and falling out, no nails and they turned yellow. I lost my eyebrows. I was a healthy before I went vegan and have worked out my whole life. I started eating the lion's diet version of carnivore. It SAVED MY KIDNEY! ALL THE NEGATIVE THINGS TURNED AROUND! I will stay on Carnivore! It is the CORRECT CHOICE FOR ME.

If humans want to harm themselves fine, but kids/pets - do NOT force an unnatural diet on them. More people need to see vids like this.
  • My family was whole food vegan for 9 months. My kids and husband were fine. But after about 6 months, I started to develop gastro issues. One night I ended up in the ER with stomach pain as severe as labor. I was given a CT scan. They found nothing. Doctors told me it wasn't my diet. By the 8th month I started to lose my hair and this continued until I realized this healthy whole food plant based diet was destroying my health and I got off it. Took a few months for my gastro issues to resolve and my hair to grow back. My niece got really sick on a vegan diet. My husband lost a friend to stomach cancer. He was also vegan. Obviously it doesn't necessarily mean it was the diet ut still. Sadly, my best friend recently switched to being vegan. Her husband a vegetarian as well. I have told her my views but she believes the ideologues and you can’t tell someone what they are doing is unhealthy when they are convinced of the exact opposite. I just hope she doesn't experience any health impacts. Everyone has different nutritional needs. We don't all react the same to the same diets. Edit to add: How insufferable are the vegans who constantly tell you that you just didn't "do it right " when they are confronted with people that got sick from being vegan. Cognitive dissonance at its finest.

In 2019, I fed my kitty some grain-free cat kibble. It was made from potato starch I figure out. I never finished the 10-pound bag because the cat gained a ton of weight while not eating more. I can never be certain, and a few months later the cat was a diabetic as she finally lost the weight. Now, I feed her carnivore, but she's still on insulin. Still, this is now one robust, healthy kitty. It's not just humans avoiding weird foods, it's what we feed our pets at the same time.

I was never vegan (my farmer father would roll over in his grave if any of us had gone that route), but I did suffer from memory issues to the point I believed I had early onset Alzheimer's. We went serious ketovoire six years ago and my brain and all other chronic problems (leg pains, bleeding gums, ice pick headaches, etc) vanished. My spouse turned around diabetes and neuropathy getting off the meds. We don't buy any veg these days. Don't miss 'em.
  • I was vegan for 32 years. I stopped being vegan when I found out that Bill:Gates of Hell has his 👿 hands all over the vegan industry.
  • He suffered from malnutrition. I'm glad he's a carnivore and healing.
  • I was never vegan, but I didn’t eat meat for over 35 years. I resisted because I bought the lie it was unhealthy, would clog my arteries, and rot in my colon. In my 60s when I would smell it grilling, it called to me. And I thought if this is something I shouldn’t be eating, why is the smell of it cooking causing me to salivate. Thank you James and Dr. Baker. If I had not gotten sick, I may have never tried carnivore.

I’m absolutely so sick of GPs giving out horrible dietary advice and recommendations to people and on top of it, getting gaslit for “daring” to challenge an “expert”. Dont outsource your ability to experiment and decide for yourself. Some of us have to learn the hard way… Thanks for the great content Dr. Baker!
  • I also did the vegetarian keto diet for over 7 years. Ended up with Oxalate build up in joints and injury sites. Also double My ‘healthy’ smoothie intake. Until my shoulders and hands locked up! Of Course doc wanted to give meds for arthritis. I declined. Researched and found Dr Baker and Dr Berry. Went carnivore 3.5 months ago. Already my hands are better. Shoulders are better. Itchy flaky ears resolved (after 5 years). Feel much much better. Now I’m afraid to eat veggies
  • I went from the sad diet to the whole food plant based diet, I was ok for a few months and then started starving went carnivore and meat saved my life!
  • @lauraa2877
I have a very similar story. Congratulations on making it out of the vegan cult brother! Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us.❤
  • I was pretty strict vegan for about 3 years, felt good (but had to eat A lot). 2022 my digestive system hit a wall. Every bit of food I ate irritated me, except meat, grits, coconut oil and white rice. It took me almost 6 months (slowly adding back foods) before I could get back under control. In my case it was probably lectins and SBO. If I had pursued allopathic medicine I would have easily been diagnosed with IBS. I have a very hard time accepting eating animals (they are all pasture raised), but all I can do is say a “prayer” thanking them. I am on this earth to thrive and eating some animals is how I must do it.
  • @cadstar96
25 years a vegan I suffered all the same symptoms went carnivorous 3 months ago and wow vegetables tried to kill me almost did.
  • I can relate to this guest the most. I had the same exact symptoms, but I thankfully I diverted to carnivore quickly. I had fatigue, dark to blood in my stools, depression and doom and gloom feeling. I was losing too much weight. Now I'm doing much better thank God for Doctors lile Shawn and Chaffe. Saladino really did a disservice to me.

Just to give the comment section some balance, I never had a problem being vegan. My skin, hair, eyes were all super healthy looking. I felt light, energetic, and was hardly sore. I had so much vitality. Weird thing is that my poop didn’t even smell bad lol. It just smelled like earth. Now, I’m an omnivore and still happy. Skins a little worse but I feel stronger in general. Energy is still up. I eat rice, eggs, Natto, beans, fruits, fish. There is really no food group I avoid besides processed foods. Life is too short imo to be so militant about what one eats. I avoid the clear poisonous type foods and stick to foods we’ve eaten forever as a species. Every year someone comes out with a new restrictive diet and I’ve learned to pay it no mind cause it always becomes “debunked” in some way. Meat bad. Meat good. Carbs bad. Carbs good. Fat bad….etc etc. I eat real food and let my intelligent body decide what to do with it and it’s served me well
  • @TXtoTN
7 yeard vegan. The first couple of years I felt great, then then my thyroid went nuts, all those carbs were not good. But I told myself that I needed to be vegan to help with my autoimmunity….So then I went to a lower carb plant based diet, felt okay for a couple more years then started developing major fatigue, hormone issues, depression, etc then enough was enough when my depression was at an all time high, my marriage was falling apart, and I developed mast cell activation syndrome and dysautonomia…and I was Whole Foods plant based probably 95% of the time. when I eat meat, I have no issues with the hives and heart problems. My body was rejecting almost everything I was eating and I would feel like absolute crap after every meal! I’m starting to feel better and hoping to get off my antidepressant sooner rather than later. Lost my dad to heart failure and diabetes in January and started really diving into research on what could help my depression and repair the damage I caused to my body. It’s hard to admit it but it’s true, being vegan ruined my health. There’s a reason that there’s so many of us with an almost identical story. I do purchase my meat from our local farmer who only does grass fed organic meat but I’m happy with it so far. I feel like I’m finally healing. I could literally write a whole novel, to be honest. I’m just glad to be free from what I was doing to myself.
