if we had replay review back then, Valentine would've had a much better record. I was bitter for years after that Michael Tucker call by Angel Hernandez. mets could've made the playoffs if it weren't for that call.

The throw came from fair territory so the catcher did not need to block the runner's path in order to field the throw. The fielder has the right of way on a batted ball, but the runner has the right of way any other time.
