  • I would check the rifling in the barrel. I had two of those some years ago and one of them the rifling was just completely wore out.

    I have my late father's one of these. Build 1945. It only needed a Wolff recoil spring as somebody had cut the original down. It's very smooth and shoots well.

    With all due respect...let's get the facts straight: It's 'Ejercito Argentino' (Argentine Army). Argentina did not forcibly take anything from Colt. Colt and the Argentinian government had a contract: beginning in 1927 Colt manufactured in Hartford and shipped to Argentina 10,000 1911A1s. In addition Colt shipped to Argentina the equipment, tooling, and technicians necessary for the the Argentinians to manufacture the pistols themselves. The 1927 Sistema Colt pistols are licensed built copies of the Colt. They were made to Colt design specs on tooling approved by Colt and Colt got paid for each one.
