wow good video. I showed it to my grandma and she was glad to see it. I asked her about the war bonnets, she said back then everyone had them, even kids, it wasn't a status or anything, just a style. But I wonder now If I went out there with one, I'd probably get someone telling me I couldn't wear it. lol

And, I am aware of some other footage from the 1960's that I'm going to try and get ahold of, too, and convert to video.
-
I'm working on acquiring more of these as time permits. I'm also working on trying to identify some of the people in the old footage. A copy of the original footage--no sound--was sent to the Tribal Archives, as well.

Glad you both enjoyed it. Good question about the war bonnets--I wondered about that also. I'll try to find out from someone. I was kind of worried about adding the soundtrack to it, too, but the music and beat fit so well that it gave the footage more life.

There was no sound to the footage. That was added by the Little Rock Drum Group during a drum ceremony in at the Little Rock Ballfield.
-
That sounds cool...I will check with them.

Thats just awesome Mike.....keep them coming

Michael, Archives has footage of Red lake and my grandpa Thomas Hill is singing pow wow tunes, it is called "The Tree is Dead", you should check it out and it has sound, from over the 50's, ask Gary

there is a old ghost dance video on youtube...not the same tribe as in this video..but still very good video due to it's age. I like seeing old footage stuff.
