Hymn: When I Survey The Wondrous Cross. Sung live with subtitles.

Published 2020-04-09
A live performance of the greatest Good Friday Hymn; Isaac Watt's beautiful 'When I survey the wondrous Cross'. The day before churches were shut down in Sydney, we very quickly recorded, with a very reduced and socially-distanced St Andrew's Cathedral Choir, several well-known hymns and psalms. We hope to share more shortly. We hope that you find them all useful in this difficult time when churches are unable to meet. Please feel free to share this or incorporate it in your online act of worship by downloading it. There is no copyright due, if you use it for your online services during this time, and feel free to download. If we can help your scattered congregation, then we are really grateful that God can use this. Please put an acknowledgement: 'Courtesy of St Andrew's Cathedral & Choir, Sydney, Australia'.

  • Thank you for that awesome message of the cross, Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again on the 3rd day and because He lives we can face tomorrow. I wish we could sing this hymn today as we did growing up in the 70's. Bless you for this wonderful singing.
  • This is an amazing hymn and it really shows Isaac Watts' love for God and talent. Jesus and God do everything for us so we should not boast about anything, but we should be humble. Love God with all your heart along with everyone else in the world. Amen.
