The Survival Russia Channel is about "The Reality Of Survival". I live on a Homestead in far away Russian wild nature and here are no room for "TV" Survival.
Only Reality counts here. Survival Russia promotes the philosophy of always carrying equipment and never to be parted from equipment which will affect chances of Survival.
So did the old timers and pioneers of both the East and the West.

Being able to think for ourselves, improvise, adapt and create beyond what we are taught is a rare skill that cannot be taught. You either have it or you don't. The majority don't. I like people who think outside boxes. Nice job Lars. I love Ravens and the sound of that female in the background is fantastic. All the best, brann
  • @whitecompany18
Works a treat Lars, saves trying to stand on it at the same time and it getting wet from snow 10/10 .
  • @majors777
hats off to the precious russian people.
  • Excellent! I have over 40 years experience in survival practice and research and this was the first time I have seen this technique with a bow drill. Just goes to show..................nobody knows it all. Excellent! You taught an old dog a new trick today.............lol.
  • That method does make sense when trying to make a fire in a place that has snow as deep as where you are. It will just take some practice. Well done Lars thinking outside the box. It worked.
  • @VE3FAL1Fred
Lars what a great idea, keep it all off the ground and out of the snow, it worked great. Thanks for another awesome video Lars.
  • That is using your noggin to think outside the bow drill norm! I simply enjoy your awesome training sessions! Thanks for sharing, Lars!
  • @moskito184
Great solution for two Problems. Fixing the groundboard and bodypressure for the Spindel. Thank you
  • @otsoalai5621
thats a very creative and practical way of solving the snow problem aswell as having to work in an awkward position....very clever chap indeed!!
  • @RM-io7qo
At my age, 73, using the bow drill at chest height looks ideal. Great video and super advice. thank you...
  • @RowcarGellert
This is brilliant! i'm a paraplegic camper who like to be able to do this sort of thing. But being paraplegic means I can't use my foot to hold down the board to use a bow-drill kit. But this totally eliminates that problem.
  • @garland978
Excellent method for snowy winter areas. Good work with only spruce, but it is a bit soft for a hearth board. It worked just the same. Thank you Lars for a new idea.
  • thank you for that. I have seen a lot of bow drill compilations, but never like this in these conditions. great job.
  • @MOOSEDOWNUNDER
Smart bloody thinking Lars. That is spot on. It has given me a lot of ideas for field assembling furniture for an LUP or FOB. Outside the box and one of those moments that you have to scribble down when you get the idea. Well done mate. ATB Moose.
  • @spyke123able
I think I'll stick to my lighter or my flint and steel!!! Better you than me! LOL Great job Lars!!!
  • @123karlw
Very good idea. Keep your back straight and have your drill piece supported better than with your feet. I like it
  • @fumasterchu12
Outstanding idea, you never cease to amaze with all of your knowledge. Have a great week my friend.
  • @mikemagnum7987
I have to admit, I would not have thought of that! Thanks for showing us such an ingenious method of bow drill fire works.
