the new Miraculous Ladybug movie is hilariously dumb

No one hates the Ladybug series as much as its own fandom and it's hilarious

The movie accomplishing more in 2 hours than the shows 5 seasons 💀

Two things: - While not mentioned in the movie, the show mentions that the Kwamis' power is why nobody can recognize them. - The reason Ladybug is a bit more confident when she first speaks to Cat Noir and the reason Cat Noir is bullying her is because a part of their Kwamis' personality merges with theirs when they enter their super hero form. When Adrien uses Plagg to turn into Cat Noir, he takes on Plagg's carefree and slightly rude personality, while Marinette takes on part of Tikki's self-confident personality.

Fun fact: it's not actually a reboot, it's a alternate universe type movie. The official series still has 2 confirmed unreleased seasons and will be sticking to the original plot :)

Honestly though, Cat Noir making fun of Ladybug is the most accurate display of a teenage boy flirting I've ever seen

I worked on the movie in the crowd animation team! The movie went through several changes and it took time to finally settle on one specific idea of what the story would be about, what characters would be involved etc. We did laugh a couple of times over some of the cliché lines, and the fact that these two can't regognise each other just because they wear Masks! But overall, it was a great experience and the songs are catchy :)

The biggest problem is definitely how the writers didn't seem to understand that their original audience is far more mature than before.

Gotta love how movie Hawk Moth overpowers both heroes so effortlessly, with just his ONE miraculous, not needing to pull any “Mandarin & the 10 rings” shenanigans to do it. Just straight up gives himself flight, telekinesis, an army of moths, and for good measure, the ability to turn water into lava.

Marinette being clumsy is actually explained well though, it isn't just "uwu im so quirky", it's that she has social anxiety. Having social anxiety naturally means you'll get symptoms of anxiety when you're in public or thinking about socialising. This could easily mean having shaky legs which make you more prone to falling especially if your head is focused on anxious thoughts rather than being aware of your surroundings. It makes a lot of sense and her anxiety towards her self-image and lack of confidence is shown in a realistic manner.

Whatever issues you have with the story, you gotta admit the animation goes hard

I can’t believe he didn’t mention how hilariously different the two voice actors were for Marinette. It was the funniest part for me.😂

11:57 if you think about it...In many Chinese legends and stories, the ladybug symbolizes good luck, while the black cat symbolizes bad luck, which hints to us why they were chosen to represent the sides of creation and destruction.

5:35 exactly. I hate it when they try to make a character clumsy and half of the clumsy stuff they did weren’t even their fault.

It’s still better than the show. The movie took an hour and a half to give us the reveal that 5 seasons couldn’t. It’s a shame they ruined Plagg, had too many songs and they wouldn’t let Marinette’s Va sing.

Complaints and Praises abt the movie Complaints: -Plot had randomly pops up scenes -Marinette's singing voice changed (Love Lou, but no) -Plagg being a jerk -Gabriel had a fast redemption and no proper confrontation from Adrien -Message was not delivered correctly and generic -Not catchy musicals and removed The Wall Between Us and the "Last Dance" -Marinette sings during a panic attack to find the courage in herself -Should've been 2 hours -More Adrienette scenes -Hawky could've akumatized himself earlier in the movie but I understand that he needs to discover his powers -Concepts of Transforming was confusing -Reveal could be "In the Rain" -No Cat Noir Transformation -The Eiffel Tower is randomly appeared in a house and outside the school - NOT even a single LUCKY CHARM -Chat could've used his opportunity to use cataclysm Praises: -Marinette being relatable -No whitewashing and diverse -Chloe isn't the dictator -Liela isn't involved -Animation is stunning -The kwami's can turn to their respective animals -Gabriel realize his actions Ladynoir scenes -People at least having a braincell -Paris is not a ghost town -Jeremy had love into this movie -Fate chose them to have their miraculous -No more stuttering or Mary Sue bs - Can do what the show can't and gives a big middle finger to Astruc
