Okay, I’ll be the first to admit I wasn’t totally sure how back we were, but after these lyrics, I’ve come to realise that we’re SOO back!!

my personal headcanon for this is that Marina thought it was so slay how Deep Cut would incorporate their culture and native languages into their songs, so she learned some of the "old octarian language" (spanish) for this song

1:10 I love the “Headliner’s High” line because that’s the song’s name in Japanese! The thought that goes into these lyrics is always incredible!

THE SPANISH LYRICS ARE SUCH A NICE TOUCH OUHHHH

THE TRIUMPHANT RETURN! These are such brilliant celebratory lyrics with an absolutely wonderful nostalgic music video (I love the inclusion of the footage from past Splatfests in Splatoon 2!). Marina having occasional lyrics in Spanish is such a wonderful touch too! The theming of these lyrics is absolutely on point, and I really love the sheer confidence you've packed into the lyrics - it really feels like a song that Pearl in particular would LOVE singing. "I walk into frame again" is such a neat line too, it feels slightly goofy and very cool, and then of course "more music, mas tu y yo" is just fabulous! Moving into the next bit I love how you've worked the Side Order reference into the theme of the song, and the inclusion of the Japanese name of the song is so perfectly done (it really sounds like 'Headliner's High' is what Alice Peralta/Marina is singing at that moment as well, which I wouldn't be surprised if it is deliberate). Also, "What can I say? I outclass the moon and the stars" just goes SO hard honestly, that is a real banger of a line. (The space/celestial theming throughout brings a great cohesion to the lyrics!) Pearl's "ignite" is so perfectly timed as well, just so hype! Finally, the ending chorus bringing together both the themes of returning and getting hyped for a new beginning is just marvellous. You're so back (you never left!) with another set of brilliant lyrics that feel like they could be the real lyrics in game!! (Pearl and Marina talk about having "a billion hits" here, and I think that describes you very well!)

I mean this so sincerely, your lyric videos give me chills from how good they are and pushed my splatoon hyperfixation to make a full blown AU
