20:05 Meant to say Chapter 8 there... 6 doesn't even have any dungeons 😅
  • @DJTileTurnip
I love the subtle "YOUR TOASTER RUNS IT" on #9, made me chuckle

I played Crosscode because of your challenge video and man. What an experience! The game is packed with action and fun, one of my favorites of all time!
  • Your number 1 is one of my all time favorites too! I grew up playing it a ton with my brother and on trips and always during long commutes. I still play. Nicely done!
  • Your taste in games is top notch. I have never seen someone stand up for flash games as valiantly as you.
  • @ilbabo2218
The attack combo you did at 19:14 literally made me reinstall the game. That was beautiful and so satisfying.
  • @SJB2
Nice list. I'm really surprised you liked creeper world. That was one of my favorites back in the day!
  • @Pins30
I remember when I watch "Can you beat CrossCode without break" video and damn i want to try it so bad. One of my friend gave me CrossCode. I played the game and it is really epic. Other than Touhou and Terraria, this is easily one of my favorite game i had ever experienced. And I remember old time about Roblox too, man i like play that game so much but eventually i kinda bored the longer i grew up. I wonder how i can recover the way i used to, also i like parkour games in roblox which is fun.
  • I’m so glad that you said something about kingdom rush, and especially frontiers, as I feel like it is an underrated gem. I love and have always been a huge fan of the series, even tho I suck :)
  • @Abominus2
22:56 that zoom out where it reveals shyguy dressed up as the flash holding a sniper is amazing

Kirby Super Star Ultra, was part of my childhood days, for my old Nintendo DS, the sub-games, the stages and the extra content of the SNES version grow up to 10, makes one of the most impresive HAL Laboratory proyects ever done since it came out in 2008. 😄
  • Something I really loved about CrossCode is its setting. The whole game takes place within a VR MMO and the random people you run into feel like actual people playing the game. Each of the main characters has their own distinct personality quirks of course, but this even extends to a lot of the random side characters. My favorite example of this is Table Girl. She likes sitting on tables instead of chairs because she thinks it's funny. You see her and her friend periodically as you go through the story arguing about it and eventually Table Girl gets other people to start doing it too. It really does feel like someone basically started a meme. So much went into the world building of CrossCode and it shows. The game you're playing as Lea feels like it could be an actual game and there's a lot of meta stuff to it. I also seriously love the puzzles (even in my peanut brain had to spend a few days on some of them). They're REALLY good at teaching you how to use new mechanics without overtly teaching you. Absolutely phenomenal and I might have to go through it again now.
  • This is the content I always come back to with people, so much passion within this, it’s great really, wasn’t expecting the top pick but I can relate heavily Side note: that foekoe bit sent me
  • @magus6666
Literally share my childhood with you like Fusion being my first experience with Metroid games and just Gameboy Advance in general. Love it so much, undoubtedly my favorite console of all time.
  • @cook_it
The GBA SP was my first "console" and Pokemon Silver is to this day the only pokemon game I own. I can absolutely relate to the unique feel of those snappy animations, especially compared to the buttery-smooth ones from the newer games, it just doesn't feel the same.

CrossCode is so fucking good, it keeps 2nd place in my favorite games since I found it back in 2019. It's suprisingly long for an indie game, got like 70 hours in just first playthrough (main story, DLC, both endings, and all optional areas and quests) there's also lots of fun on NG+ with modifiers, especially new dialogues on certain mods. Great game. Just a note for anyone wanting to buy it, the puzzles are hard. Like, really fucking hard, you'll spend so many time on some of those puzzles that it's just insane. Some of the non dungeon puzzles unironically made my head hurt.

I remember seeing crosscode as a Kickstarter demo so seeing it rank so high makes me want to return to it and see if I can complete it now! Also, thank you Shy for being one of the few people I can sit back and eat my food to. That may sound weird, but it's what I do!
  • @thethelog2990
Pleasant surprise to see Pokemon Crystal at #1! I didn't grow up with Pokemon at a young age but I got into the series as a teenager and the virtual console version of Pokemon Gold became one of my most played games on the 3DS despite it not actually being a 3DS game. While the amount of level grinding is a turnoff for some people, it can actually be really chill to slowly grind levels for your team while listening to music or watching a video. Also, Item Asylum looks absolutely hilarious with all of those ridiculous memes and vine sounds. I haven't touched Roblox in a long time but I might want to log back into it just to try that game out.

I got Crosscode because of a random community post I saw mentioned it. That's also when I decided that I should probably subscribe to this channel. Fantastic game, thank you so much for recommending it to me. I see what you mean about having a unique perspective on gaming, your top 10 was very interesting to see. I personally prefer games where I can do cool stuff.

My own list, since I've seen a couple of these (awesome video btw): 10) Spore: Galactic Adventures - One of the first games I remember playing on a computer. Super fun and usually pretty laid back, though the gameplay does get a bit stale and repetitive in the second half of the game, not to mention the huge difficulty spike in the space stage. 9) Super Mario Galaxy - I have a lot of good memories with this game and have completed it more times than I can count. It isn't higher on the list as a lot of the endgame and filler stars can be kind of annoying and tedious which makes 100%ing the game kind of a chore at times. 8) Dark Souls 1 or 3 - These two could both be interchanged as I had an awesome experience with both of them and became absolutely obsessed with their worlds for a while after beating them. Honestly I never found the games too difficult, although I have yet to complete the Ringed City or Ashes of Ariandel DLCs. 7) Minecraft - Yes everyone seems to have this on their list, but as someone who's played on and off since the game was in beta and spent thousands of hours in it, it holds a really special place for me. It has the same issue as Spore though, it gets very boring if you play it too long. 6) Terraria - Another game I've been playing for years, but vanilla got super old for me and I didn't like 1.4 so I pretty much exclusively play modded now. 5) Risk of Rain 2 - A phenomenal game and one of the few roguelikes I actually enjoy, I can get sucked into the game for hours at a time because it's just so satisfying and addictive 4) Breath of the Wild - I will never forget my first experience with this game, it was one of the only games that I genuinely could not put down after I bought it. If you have a switch, even if you don't like Zelda or open-world games, PLEASE PLAY IT. 3) Geometry Dash - With well over a thousand hours and literally my whole yt channel revolving around the game, it's safe to say this is one of my favourites. I met a lot of my online friends through the game as well, and I have a lot of good memories playing it with friends. 2) Celeste - I love platformers, but this was the first one I was actually compelled to 100% as soon as I beat it. Chapter 9 and all the C-Sides were a massive grind but I never got frustrated or angry at the game, even after dying literally 1000 times to a single room. Madeline is an incredibly likeable and relatable protagonist, and almost everything about the game is just immaculate. 1) Drawn to Life (DS) - So few people have heard of this game which is devastating because it is by far the best one I have played. Maybe it's the nostalgia speaking, but I have beaten it more times than I can even count and every playthrough is an absolute pleasure. The graphics are really nice and vibrant, every area and level is unique, the music is an absolute BANGER and the gameplay, while very simplistic, is satisfying and uses each level's gimmick to it's full potential.
