Ive had instagram and tiktok deleted for quite some time now. I can say it helps me focus on my own life and not to waste precious times just scrolling! Deleting social media has is one of the best decisions ive made.
  • @patriciarennea
I recently deleted, then went back, now it makes me feel sick to my stomach, so I just deleted again (this is the reminder I needed, thank you)

Leaving social media is my New Year’s resolution! I did it back in 2017 and miss the absolute freedom and peace I felt. I hope you find the same!
  • @brendaluna9647
I want to build the courage to do this too! Social media is messing up my mental health. Good Luck!

I have never known anyone who has quitted social media regret it! You feel a lightness when you come off social media. Congrats on your journey.

There’s a really interesting book called “the shallows “, what the Internet is doing to your brain. What I find is, people who spend a lot of time on social media, when they’re off social media, their headspace is still online and not in the present. Sometimes they cant stop referring to a video they saw online, they can’t put down their phone at dinner, they can’t turn off their phone, and they develop this distraction syndrome where they can’t concentrate fully and get anxious

I came across your video to see if anyone else was doing this in 2024. Social media makes me feel so insecure about myself and I need to work on loving myself and it’s getting in the way. Like I genuinely just recently started feeling bad for living in an apartment and not a house. In this economy too 🤦🏼‍♀️😂Im 27 and just became a mom 6 months ago so the only thing that is going to bum me out is not posting my son for family members I don’t see often. But this did encourage me because you’re very right about being able to connect in other ways. I think that’s a better thing too. It forces me to become closer with people and it’s really quite sad how we think posting a picture on social media is the equivalent to keeping in touch with someone. I just subscribed and I’m excited to watch someone else doing the same thing!

Good job I did the same a while back. I never looked back, I feel like a weight on my chest has been lifted. Learning toLive in the moment & have quality friends quality way of living. ❤

Good Luck to you ! It’s awesome when you be present with your authentic self! I gave mine up in 2016 and never had it ever again. Love to see more and more people getting away from those awful life draining systems! ❤️

Hi Haley, this is so inspirational. I've stopped posting on FB/Instagram for a bit over 2 years. But still have them on my phone as I occasionally use FB market place, and use Instagram to get inspiration for painting/learning new stuff. I catch myself scrolling down to FB for number of times without realizing it. Everything you said is so true and right on point. It's a very brave decision especially with your job. Count me in to this journey and I'm looking forward to it <3

What a brave choice for you to make! Supporting you Haley❤

First of all I’m so proud of you taking that leap. Social media can be so overwhelming. Your mental health is what’s important and you do what makes you happy. I wish you the best.😊👍🏽🙌🏽

I also left Social Media a couple of weeks ago. Prior to that I did some research about how Social Media works and how it affects our behavior and lifes. Somehow I already knew, that it wasn't "so good" but now I know it is even worse ... Greetings from Germany and all the best! 🙂👋
  • @RxtroGaming123
I need to delete my Facebook. Tired of being bullied etc. I deleted TikTok last week and never going back
  • @metamoneko147
I absolutely agree and feel the same in every single aspect you mentioned- so I did the same- deleted every social media account and app and will finally finish some stuff before deleting Instagram finally! Not using those apps made me so much happier and feels lighter
  • @tomguynyc9083
Absolutely! As an actor/ filmmaker & artist my biggest issue was that the algorithm had such constraints. When you think about it they pay nothing for their content. And for all the issues that you mentioned. I will move my content to YouTube. Wishing you the very best with your work. 🕊️🕺
  • @yellomino
So many good points! I feel the same way about a lot of what you said and have been doing my version of removing myself from these apps. I haven’t deleted my accounts yet, but I have stopped posting to them for about 7 months now, while I decide what I want to do with my business long term. You are very wise!
  • @karenseto6128
Do what feels right for you, hope it will feel better and bring true joy! Take care and much happiness!
