One of the many things that kept the Ps2 on life support until like 2013.

I’d be interested in a “same name, different game” video where you showcase games that released on different consoles with the same name, but offered [drastically] different gaming experiences

A 360/PS3 version of Indiana Jones was actually in development, using the same engine as The Force Unleashed, but a lot of development issues led to their cancellation. But the Wii/PS2 version was far enough along that they kept it on the schedule

0:37 If the Gamecube's last game was the Prophecy, then the original Xbox's last game (Madden 09) must be the Devil incarnate to Scott.

I do think it’s worth mentioning the hellscape that was PS3 game development as one of the reasons why alot of games skipped it in favor of PS2.

Since he isn’t an anime fan, Scott wouldn’t know this firsthand, but it remains a curious thing to me that Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3, still two of the most highly beloved DBZ games ever made, were released on Wii and PS2 only after PS3 and Xbox 360 were already out. And the PS3 and Xbox 360 games that followed were generally agreed to be weaker releases.

Of course Scott just has a list of PS2 games on Wii lying around before making this video

I worked at Best Buy in December of 2014 and we were still selling PS2 games..

Sakura Wars V being released for PS2 and Wii Overseas was a surprise back in 2010.

Sonic Unleashed on WiiS2 is actually harder than it's PS360 counterpart. You only get so many lives in each stage, and this makes Eggmanland an absolute nightmare. You can get far more lives in the HD version.

I feel like a factor of this is because the ps3 was hard to develop for. Rayman raving rabids and crash of the titans were released on wii and 360, but ps2 instead of the ps3. It also contributed to the whole no games meme.
  • India and Brazil got the PS2 (Slim line) so late, 2008 and 2009, it's just crazy lol...

I see Harvey Birdman on the list! Man that game was great. It was basically an Ace Attorney game with Hanna Barbera characters and comedic tone. It’s really interesting to see Capcom handle a western IP, especially one owned by Adult Swim.
  • The Wii version of the Spongebob Atlantis Square Pantis game getting a PS2 port is both funny and a crime...
  • The x86 architecture of the PS4 and PS5 are so similar that i think lower end games would be crazy to not come out for the PS4 even longer than the PS2 was supported. Same with the Switch. The Switch 2 reportedly doesn't have much of an architectural difference. So if it can run on Switch, it should go to Switch.

Rayman rabbids immediately came to mind. The PC version is based off the PS2/Xbox 360 version
  • @kayivey83
12:18 fun fact, there's an IGN logo hidden on the wii cover of Okami

The weirdest thing is when they'd do a downgraded Wii port of the console game, but the PS2 version would just be the same as the PSP version. For example, Toy Story 3. On XB360 and PS3, it's the same HD game, Wii and PC is the downgraded version(though Steam still has screenshots from the HD version for some reason), and the PS2 and PSP are a completely different game. DS is the only version actually exclusive to one platform.
  • @BrandonYap
I always thought it was weird that Star Wars The Force Unleashed had the Wii version ported to the PS2
  • @Tohofan122
Godzilla Unleashed was a good part of my childhood Had all three versions; PS2, Wii and DS
