“If I'd tried for them dinky singles I could've batted around six hundred.” Babe Ruth
  • “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game “ Babe Ruth

When cigarettes and whiskey 🥃 was a good nutritious for athletes

Ah, good old Babe Ruth. Without him baseball would've been so... Ruthless!

Whether he was pointing to fence or not, he was clearly telling the cubs I'm about to go yard. And talking trash. Awesome!

I’m a huge Cub fan, and I have to say, the way the crowd reacted was pretty cool. Yes, they were trying to get in Babe’s head and get him to fail, but when he homered, they appreciated the greatness of the player and the moment.

Babe's autobiography is a must read and he deals with this question, I have no reason to doubt his word, he also gives insight into the world of baseball of the day and his own long journey to leave behind his wild youth

I don't give a shit what anyone says, if Babe Ruth says he called it, god damn it he called it.

What an incredible, unbelieveable, impossible sight to comprehend. The Cubs in the World Series!
  • A few years ago I met Babe Ruth's granddaughter Linda. She was at a baseball event in Bristol, CT, signing baseballs and posters and telling stories about Babe Ruth. I said to her: "I'm sure you get asked this all the time about your grandfather, but do you know if he REALLY called his shot in 1932. And she said, "He did it all the time, but just to himself. That was the only time he made it clear to everyone else." So she basically told us YES. He did call his shot.
  • Seen the video a million times, never heard him talk about it in his own words till today

I'm a huge Cubs fan but I'm amazed that you could pull up the footage. I have to admit The Babe is the greatest baseball player to have lived.

714 home runs from a drink and insomniac, today's players have personal trainers drink only water and eat healthy and will never come close to what Babe did ever!
  • What’s always fascinated me about Babe is how there are countless stories of him being hungover as hell from the night before of drinking and partying and still hitting two homeruns in a game. He was just on another level.
  • No gloves, helmet, personal trainer, weights. Good old fashioned beer and dogs. Don't forget most stadiums where huge, not like today.

Hero’s get remembered but legends never die
  • He won 3 world series as a pitcher,and 4 as a hitter.None better than Babe.
  • In today's game of tiny strike zones and short fences, the Babe would have hit 900 home runs. Babe was the greatest of all time and it's not even close.
