This is the first animation I have ever made and finished.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say a few things about the animation and my "vision" for it.

So, I think the most important thing to note is that this animation is intended to depict the game from a cinematic perspective, and the animation is heavily inspired by how I felt playing the real game at times when I felt invincible and obliterated everything in my path; while a lot of things are decently game accurate, I wanted the freedom to get more creative and not restrict myself to only the game's mechanics. Things like Militia 2 spinning with the aerorig and going way too fast, Assault 1 being able to clash blades with Sparta, and Combat Medic being able to physically grab and move around Contractor 1 are things that aren't possible in-game.

I felt as though the animation would have been more interesting if I were allowed to break the game's rules and let everyone get more creative with their equipment, and it also makes it easier on myself when I don't have to constantly worry about adding a tank or sniper around every corner that the dummies have to avoid.

If I tried to make the animation really realistic, I would've animated Hermes striking everyone with missiles every few seconds, everyone would've constantly checked their corners for snipers before flying out into the open, I'd have to ensure Sparta and Daedalus were targeting people and constantly moving (especially Sparta), the dummies would've probably died way more, there wouldn't be any epic group fights, and much more. I wanted the characters to behave more like a real-life person would, rather than be restricted to using meta movement and in-game strategies all the time.

One thing I agree is strange is the lack of mechanical units. When I was making the animation, the game didn't have any tanks or platforms on wave 10 yet, so I didn't add them, and as I was starting out, I was afraid of animating the APUs and rangers, though maybe I should've put in the effort to throw them in somewhere.

I can't make any excuse for excluding noob engineers or grenadiers though. That was just me being lazy, and being unable to come up with any good ideas for an interesting scene with either unit, and also not wanting to animate the teleporter/sentry/smoke cloud.

I also excluded variant skins for any of the noob units, because it would have been a lot of work for me to manually prepare rigs for all the different skins, and I didn't think I could do it.

Another thing I somewhat regret is the lack of special units. Most of the enemies are just infantry, shielders, or cloakers.

Finally, I wanted to talk about the making of the animation. It took me 6 weeks to make and I animated and edited everything alone, and when I first started, I didn't really have any big plans besides picturing a bunch of scenes in my head alongside the music, so if you wanted to accurately recreate the process I went through when animating the video, just pause it at any moment and think "well what's supposed to happen now?".

I have played the actual game a lot, and I know many things in the animation are inaccurate to the real game. My mindset when animating this video wasn't "What it's like to play Dummies vs Noobs", it was "How it FEELS to play Dummies vs Noobs". Some people might dislike the inaccurate gameplay, but that's how I decided to go about it.

Most of the particles come from ReiAkaris's particle pack and "The Golden Particle Pack", and the vast majority of assets are from the "Dummies vs Noobs kit" by FossilFalls, but the kit didn't include any maps and had plenty of missing sound effects, so I had to recreate City from scratch by eyeballing it (you'll notice the textures, lighting, and fog are all off from the actual game), and I had to record in-game audio in a private server for lots of various things, such as the foghorn and aerial reconnaissance audio, the noob sniper's beeping targeting noise, everything related to jetpackers, the saboteur's cloaking noises, the overcharger, the Governor, the handaxes, literally every sound related to the 3 bosses, etc.

That's pretty much all the thoughts I had about this over the 6 weeks I was making the animation. I do read all the comments and appreciate all the feedback, so thanks for watching the video and reading the description as well. I know the video isn't even that popular, but it still did better than I expected. Again, thanks for watching!

  • Sparta, at long last avoided his canon event. (He died to a wall canonically by ramming it, but here, he gets killed by hermes crashing into him instead)
  • @afkaim3
The medic flying across the map and trick shooting and rev you is so real
  • @Sayernal2nd
We got 2 types of players when listen to Full Force: 1: DvN 2: Entry Point 3: New players that think this song fire as f$ck
  • @AgentCombat73
accurate representation of how stronghold 5-5 would execute this
  • Competent medic mains on their way to show up. Revive everybody from across the map with the bow. Refuse to elaborate further. Leave.
  • In the real game if you meet Hermes, Sparta and Daedalus at the same time in the final wave. You're really cooked unless you're that skilled to solo.
  • @nerdokiddo8106
as an aerorig main, i can confirm that this is exactly how the weapon feels like to play

2:59 if only you could pick up your teammates and throw them into a crowd of shielders lol

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that this animation isn't supposed to be 100% game accurate. My intention was to depict the game from a cinematic perspective; while a lot of things are decently game accurate, I broke plenty of the game's rules and made things a lot easier on the dummies than they should be. If you want more of my thoughts on this, you can read the description. I read all the comments and appreciate all the feedback, so thanks for watching the video. 2:02 Rock and Stone!

This is amazing holy shit. Pretty much every action in game is animated. Love the fact that there is just 1 guy without a jetpack pretty much doomed without his team. also aerorig parts are sick as hell
