  • The Dudeā€™s Rug not only tied the room together, The Dudeā€™s Rug tied all of us together. šŸø

This is one of those movies where the first time you watch it itā€™s pretty funny and the more times you watch it the funnier it getsā€¦
  • When Walter tried to commit Donnie's ashes to the water, the wind blew them into the air. Even in death, Donnie was out of his element.

The 1st time I saw The Big Lebowski, I thought it was Okay. The 2nd time I saw it, I thought 'This is genius'... Never had that experience with a Comedy film before.

Fun Facts: The F-bomb is dropped 260 times and you never see the Dude bowl! Also, I will always love this movie for giving us the best quote to reply to someone with when they disagree with you and it's not worth having a conversation about it. "Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man."

The rug really did tie the room together.

The woman at the restaurant missing her toe is Aimee Mann singer/song writer for the group "Til Tuesday". Steve Buscemi's character was written specifically with very little dialog and was told to shut up a lot in the movie because Steve Buscemi received a lot of criticism of his character in "Fargo" never shuting up.

Jeff Bridges and John Goodman were quite the dynamic duo in this movie

Walter Sobchek is one of the best characters in cinematic history. Glad you watched this.

The best little detail in this film (there are many) is the check that the Dude writes in the beginning of the film is dated the 11th but then a few days later (in the film) we learn from the Dude's landlord that it's "almost the 10th". So that means the Dude was not only writing a 67Ā¢ check for the half and half, but was kiting the check for it. Brilliant.

One little touch that many folks miss is that the one time you see Donny not bowl a strike foreshadows his demise.

"His name is Lebowski?, that's your name Dude."
  • I bought this movie on VHS in a discount bin at a truck stop. I was not in the right frame of mind the first time I watched it. I did not enjoy this movie...until they spread the ashes. I started laughing so hard I was crying. It was enough to get me to watch it again and it became one of my regulars I would pop in.
  • The writing in this one - all of the characters are expertly written and this movie is an absolute treasure.

One of the great things about this movies is for all it's great dialog, every body is almost always speaking over each other, not listening or speaking at cross purposes. Fantastic! There is almost no actual true communication between any of the characters.

At John Goodmanā€™s Hollywood Walk Of Fame ceremony Jeff Bridges turned up complete with cardigan and delivered a Eulogy as the Dude to his friend.

Just a little bit of trivia, Steve Buscemi used to be a firefighter before acting. He was at ground zero on 9/11
