I head out on a three day trip to see a plane crash from 1950! Thanks to Ross B. for sending me the coordinates. Also thanks to Murray L. for his excellent blog write up and providing the history. I highly recommend reading his report if you want to learn more about this incident:

  • Hey my friend! Th8s sure brought back memories. I'm 72, I spent many years traveling in a 56 GMC long panel van. My companion was Cinnamon, a fenale 120 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. We would do what you did. Drive in, then hike in deeper. You will live the rest of your life remembering your pup bouncing around. You treat Rocco very well and he is always watching out for you. Blessings to you both.

The skill, effort, and talent that goes in to these videos is unmatched elsewhere on the internet. Foresty, you are truly a gem.

Rocco is such a cool dog! I love watching her bound around with all that energy and enthusiasm. Makes me miss all my boys and girls from over the years...
  • @DonnasRoadTrips
Rocko is living her best life with you. Congrats on the 400K. That plane is in amazing shape considering the crash and elements.

I actually created a second YouTube channel so I could watch and "like" all of your videos like I was watching them for the first time again. I thought it was about time that I wire you some appreciation for all of you hard work. Thank you so much for the inspiration, Foresty! You have made a tremendously positive impact in my life! Hello from the interior of BC!

Miraculous survival of the passengers. I can’t imagine being in those temperatures waiting for the rescue. Great video Simon.
  • @Grasshopper.80
History, hiking and biking. Always love a Forest upload.

Best thing when my husband yells “WE GOT A FORESTY!” ❤❤
  • @Visionery1
Nicely made video with excellent drone shots: no outdated 1990s transitions, no abrupt panning and zooming, no unnecessary background music.

I find the fact that the other aircraft with 43 onboard is still missing to this day, that's just crazy to think about.
  • @2nd_of_3
Loved watching Rocko as a puppy ❤ she’s grown up so much.

what a cool find, especially knowing all passengers survived. Crazy to think it's just been sitting there for almost 75 years, and how it could be there for many more years to come. Thanks for taking us along to see it!
  • I simply love your treks into the wild. When you are not able to do this any more, you are going to have an amazing library of film and memories to re-watch and stories to tell. Thanks for all your hard trekking, for those of us who may have our limitations big or small. look after yourself Simom.

Beautiful country up there. My Uncle (late) flew from India into China during WWII, and I heard a few of his stories on flying the hump. Navigation was primitive back in those days. The crews were all kids, except for pilot, who was a more seasoned 24 year old. Thanks Foresty.
  • Foresty Foresty, who lives in a van, exploring Canada as only he (and Rocko) can! Congratulations on 400,000 subscribers, Simon! You are the real deal!
  • My favourite kind of adventure. I have found over half a dozen WW2 vintage aircraft wrecks in my area of Australia alone. More adventures like this please!!!
  • C-47 aka DC-3 or Dakota is my favorite Aircraft. I had the privilege to crew the TICOBELL WW-2 survivor in Florida for several years. Your walk thru brought back memories. The Aircraft is still flying at the Valiant Air Command Titusville Florida.

Had to watch again to see what you thought were some little mistakes. I didn't really see what it was that you changed but I did get enthralled again on the beauty so wasn't paying attention to finding the differences. You do an awesome job on these so don't feel like the little mistakes you see are an issue but you do what makes you happy. This was another awesome trip. Rocko jumping like a bunny is so cute. Thanks for taking us along.
  • @spidrawebster
Really interesting visit! Love the comedy of Rocko romping like Bugs Bunny imitating a "woodland creature".
