If you lose "friends" within 24 hours of a confusing incident; if these "friends" didnā€™t reach out to you to hear your side, to offer friendship and support? They arenā€™t your friends. Write them off as lost baggage. Innocent until proven guilty.

Iā€™ve witnessed a woman come into a public place and start beating a man (a regular) because he was talking to me (a gas station worker.) He just quietly begged ā€œplease, not hereā€ while she screamed and hit him repeatedly in the face. I looked him up a couple years later, saw him in jail for domestic violence, and knew either he couldnā€™t take it anymore and defended himself or she lied to hurt him more. My brother was also beaten repeatedly to bruises and cuts by his fiancĆ©, who after he left her claimed he abused her. Domestic abuse goes both ways. I donā€™t know this guy, or have reasons to believe him or her, but attacking him over an allegation without evidence is braindead behavior.

It is still technically entirely an accusation until the trial. Just because youre arrested, doesnt make it become a fact.
  • @iztiray
he was found not guilty and case was dismissed

I 100% believe this guy. I've been in his position where an ex-gf of mine was physically abusive on a regular basis, and when I finally had enough and defended myself I was vilified by my own family and friends. Literally all I did was pin her to the ground because she was punching me in the face. But because I'm a 6ft 120kg dude, and she was a 5ft 60kg girl no one believed she was physically abusive. It never came to the point where police were involved. And I actually kicked her out of our house at that point.

"Why am I going to Jail"šŸ˜¢ "Wyatt, we've gone over this like three times. You pistol whipped a guy over the head with a gun"šŸ˜‚ 3:31

Lol I had no idea there was any "drama" about Tobey McGuire. He responded exactly how I do if someone's trying to block traffic! It's just unsafe to completely surround & blind someone driving a vehicle!!!

My girlfriend scratched me one time in an argument and the cops showed up. The cops saw the scratch and even though i said it was fine and i didnt want to press charges they took her to jail and she was facing a felony domestic violence charge. For a scratch. Its really hard to say how guilty this man is.

Domestic abuse victim here... Just to clear up... A felony assault vs misdemeanor is the type of assault, for example my ex got four charges... The hair pulling and hitting were misdemeanors and the choking and smothering were both felonies, so I think he probably choked her while restraining her. I refused treatment as well, that has no bearing on legitimacy, however if it's he said she said then there would be some marks on her to give them the reason to actually arrest. In Domestic Violence cases even if the victim or perceived victim doesn't want to press charges the state will, so her saying not at arrest him will do nothing, it becomes a state vs him thing... So it's plausible for him to be telling the truth, she attacked him, he restrained her, most likely neck holding, cops were called, evidence pointed to him being the aggressor because she had marks, and he was arrested and charged with felony dv ... Now when it comes to court she will be speaking to a victim advocate and the prosecutors office and there's a chance her insistence on him not being the aggressor etc, can help charges get lessoned or possibly dropped, but she really has no control over how the state wants to charge him, she can give her two cents but ultimately depending on evidence, etc it's on the state. Hope this helps clear up any confusion!!!!

Saw the cover of this and was devastated immediately šŸ˜

Okay, this is STANDARD PRACTICE for a 273.5. If the cops are called, someone has to be taken in. There doesnā€™t need to be any damage or visible injuries. Even if the person who is allegedly attacked doesnā€™t want to press charges. This is ALWAYS how it goes. This will always be booked as a felony because that is what the penal code dictates. This DOES NOT mean he will serve any time. I have seen dozens of these charges be ORd (released on their own recognizance) which means no more $50,000 bond and the case be dismissed. SOURCE: I was a bail agent in Los Angeles County for 10+ years.
  • One thing oompaville. Just because you go to jail does not mean you have committed a crime. You are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Jail comes before court Edit: you corrected yourself. Nevermind
  • @thegrimeye2884
To anyone who's yet to look this up, Angry Reactions' case was dismissed and he was listed as 'not guilty' so it seems like he was being honest about what happened. Since then he has quit TikTok, but people who still enjoy him hope he gets back to uploading and doing content somewhere else soon.
  • I don't typically blast my personal life on social media, but i escaped a domestic violence relationship after 8 years. I spent 5 years locked in a basement and have scars and permanent damage all over my body from the attacks. I also had a gun held to my head on numerous occasions by the man who "loved me". Im not sharing all this for pity or attention. Im sharing all of this because one common theme i am seeing is lack of accountability. Unless ive missed something, the entire time he tries to plea his case, its her fault for attacking him first. I think everyone should have the right to defend themselves, but after i had to fight for even so much as a restraining order with all the evidence i had against my ex, its genuinely hard to believe that someone would get slapped with a felony domestic violence charge for self defense. Still, im trying my best to remain unbias since no one really knows what happened at this point. I hope that if he truly is innocent, he gets his life back. But if hes guilty, he has no one to blame but himself for losing everything he built.

One thing I remember from a police academy course I did was that in DV situations, the main priority isnā€™t figuring out who to arrest, itā€™s separating the two people so that no one else gets hurt. Which means just picking someone to arrest and figuring things out later. Which also means itā€™ll usually be the man who gets arrested because of biases. I have no clue what the situation is here, but I think thatā€™s something important to keep in mind. Arrest isnā€™t proof of guilt

I sure do love when oompaville posts right before im bouta eat this comfort food

As a black man I say let the facts come out. Because men get a bad wrap. Especially a black man
  • @snakes7388
I feel like the more positive you are, the worse your bad days are. (at least I hope he just had a bad day, he seems kind of genuinely nice.)
