GUATEMALA CITY, GUATEMALA - Welcome to Guatemala City, Central America, and today we’ll be going on an ultimate Guatemalan street food tour - eating some of the best food in the entire city!
Mercado Central, Guatemala City - We’re starting this street food tour at Mercado Central (Central Market) to check out all the amazing produce and especially avocados as this bustling colorful market in the center of the city. The avocados were delicious and the fresh fruits were amazing. We ate some delicious Guatemalan antojitos as Refacciones Doña Mela, Guatemala City and some adobada and beef soup at Comedor Angelica, Guatemala City.
Cevicheria Los Chavos, Guatemala City (goo.gl/maps/nHTcpFTNXuXiDbdJA?entry=yt) - After some sightseeing about Guatemala City, we then headed to Cevicheria Los Chavos for a unique Guatemala City style ceviche made with some surprising ingredients - like worcestershire sauce and ketchup!
Hot Dogs Ejecutivos el Chino, Guatemala City - Now we’re moving on to the the most famous Guatemalan street food - the shucos or Guatemalan crazy hot dogs literally! This is one of the places that started it all - everything is grilled over fire and there about a dozen meats and toppings that go on. It’s a huge celebration of a hot dog all in one bun, everything chopped and layered perfectly. It was very tasty, and I especially loved the layers of guacamole avocado.
Shucos Campo Marte - Finally another Guatemala City street food gem is Shucos Campo Marte where there’s half a dozen stalls are serving roadside shucos and the trans-metro - a huge bus sized hot dog!

The lady that made the tacos, soups, and handmade tortillas treated you both as if you were her sons. I could feel the love she had as she made you the plates and bowls of soup/stews with all the condiments. Guatemalan people are some of the nicest people you will meet. ❤

Woooow qué chido y qué rica se ve la comida de Guatemala!! La neta que cuando estuve ahí me encantó el país! La gente es super buena onda y sus ciudades super bonitas :) Lo curioso es que compartimos también mucho en la gastronomía y los guatemaltecos le dan un toque único super delicioso. I'm happy that pablo took Mark to the right places to taste our food, you just missed atoles. Guatemala is a very underrated country, 4 different types of culture, 22 languages, more than 50 typical dishes, the main proof of the first man in the America's and lets not talk about our touristic places cuz ill never end haha.
