"99% of my time is messing around trying to come up with something" -Joel Zimmerman masterclass

6 years later, and still the most massive sound Joel has ever released.

His chord progressions never fail to amaze.

For people hating, this is insane live. He probably made it mostly for playing it live on a huge system.

for anyone trying to figure out what genre this is... It's deadmau5.
  • @MuchFlight

Fucking simple and amazing at the same time. idk how deamau5 has inspired almost all of us. he has his own style.

people say he is repetitive, but actually he is in a zone, a zone of creativity.. you have to understand what he really does there.. he repeats because he knows he got to do it to remain there a little longer and its amazing there.. but its sad some people cannot go there along with him.. but those who do go there understand it all :)

I cannot believe it has almost been 5 years since this masterpiece was released, Avaritia came out the day I discovered deadmau5. I was 11 years old, I was helping my mother clean the garden with my father, and my dad knew I had been into electronic music for a few years (I used to be a big monstercat and MrSuicideSheep fan) so my dad asked what all the bleeps and bloops were coming from my room and I told him electronic music, he asked if I liked Daft Punk, I said yes of course, he asked if I liked skrillex I said he isn't my favorite but I do like a couple of his tracks, he then asked if I liked deadmau5, I asked who deadmau5 was because I didn't really know. My dad told me to look him up so I did that, later that night I looked him up and the first thing I came across was deadmau5's channel and a channel called mau5trap, right below that, was a video titled "deadmau5 - Avaritia" I clicked this video not knowing what to expect, it had only a couple thousand views at the time, I was expecting another dubstep track or another techno track knowing my dad. But what I came across was sweet melodies and a hard drop that still made me happy and I could bop my head too. I had finally found the music I have been searching for that gets me in the feels. It's almost 5 years later now, I have gone to a deadmau5 concert, I have watched the deadmau5 masterclass, I have bought deadmau5's 4x4=12 album on vinyl, I have bought a deadmau5 hat that he then signed at a different concert in Lowell MA, and most importantly this music has inspired me to make my own. I now have a complete flop of a music career but I've still given it my best shot, I'm not that good but mind you I'm only 16 and I'm completely self taught. I'm not asking you to check out my music, I'm just telling you this specific song I hold near and dear to my heart because I wouldn't know how to make music if I hadn't listened to this song first. If you do decide to check me out, thank you so much you don't know how much I appreciate it. <3

'Goes on Deadmau5's comments' awesome people everywhere 'goes on most over artists comments section' stupid comments everywhere , deadmau5 has such a good fan base !!
  • @AlexGrtner
Mate what the F are you talking about? I'm listening to this on shitty, Toshiba Satellite laptop speakers which enhance the highs and cut out almost all the bass with really  low quality mids and its still better than everything on the beatport Top 100... but then again this is deadmau5... thats a given.

Normal people just don’t understand this is beautiful. Can’t wait to see him live again
  • Sounds so Much better with headphones, people who don't have them obviously don't know how good this is.
