Craziest thing OJ did was 2000 yards in 14 games. 14 games!
-
Due to the crazy criminal cases O.J. had, his actual NFL career is overlooked. He really is one of the best backs to ever live.
-
People forget how early Sanders could've broken the all time rushing record. He retired after another 1,000+ yard season, just 1k yards short of Walter Payton's record. Took Emmitt Smith playing for quite a while after his prime & many years to finally beat it
-
Cozy super lucky to attend Ravens games when Jamal Lewis got 2K yards. His game at home against the Browns when he ran for 295 was truly insane. Baltimore was a safe city to be in that night.
-
Nobody could slice through people quite like OJ could.
-
What people forget about Terrell Davis is that the 2008 yard year he was often rested during a lot of those games. Denver would be up big and they would pull him. Could have been much more yards.
-
Barry did it playing for the Lions
-
O.J. had the greatest 2k yard season, and there is no deny that
-
Barry doing it with no offense line or offensive support is NUTS
-
1 did it in 14... All the others had 16 games. Todays backs have an extra with 17 games, but most offenses back fields deploy 2 backs.
-
Terrell Davis sat out for a total of 8 quarters in his 2000 yard achievement. He could have easily gained 2500 yards. He is the most unappreciated running back of all the 2000 yard rushers.
-
Let's not forget about Larry Johnson's first 16 games... man was a BEAST!! Came in for an injured Priest Holmes and went OFF!!!! he had 2060 yards on the ground in his 1st 16 as the full-time starter in 2005-2006

Barry Sanders was my favorite running back in the 90's. He was the most explosive guy on the field, in my opinion. I didn't even like the tenderloins back then, but I liked to watch Barry. When I ran track, I modelled my running form after his style: low to the ground and aerodynamic with his elbows in.
-
Terrel Davis did it while sitting out 8 quarters out of a 16 game season. Practically he did it in 14 games.
-
I remember watching that Peterson game and the excitement as he inched closer to the record. They couldve gave him that
-
Barry ran for 100 yards or more in every away game that season, which combined with the last 2 road games in the previous year gives him the record for most consecutive away games over 100 yards rushing with 10.
-
Eric Dickerson still holds the record.
-
They go to 18 games a season and this list is going to get much larger.
-
Another comment, based on the CJ all purpose yards! Ppl like to forget that Thurman Thomas led the league in all purpose yards 3 straight seasons!

I grew up in 70's. Power Football. RB's were the QB's of today. They were the ones that you strapped a saddle on, and road it to SB. That was Football.
