Just a quick FYI: The Corniche actually started its existence as the Silver Shadow Drop Head Coupe in 1966. Coachwork was by Mulliner-Park Ward. It was renamed the "Corniche" in 1971.

Come on bob keep the shadow! They look awesome together. Don’t say you can’t afford them both.

Always a thumbs up whenever Videobob posts a video

Corniche is my favourite. Even here in the UK you don’t see many. Just pure art.
  • Hey Videobob 👋 Awesome video as always. I watched the whole video as usual. They are both beautiful, but my favorite out of the two is the Cornish. Because it is a two door convertible. I agree with you about taking them out in this extreme heat. I feel the same way with my own classic cars 🙂🙌🙌

The L-Series V8 was in production from 1959 until 2020. 61 years. I think it's the longest production series V8 engine ever. Originally conceived as a hemi-head design, RR found it would not fit under the hood of the Silver Cloud because the engine bay was too narrow. They had to redesign the heads in a more convention wedge-head design to get it to fit.

Also cool to see you got the white car sorted. Thank you for the cool content
  • Corniche is my favorite classic RR.❤❤. Looks like the red one is setup for a righthand drive with the wipers setup.
  • Beautiful automobiles, you are rightfully proud to be the owner of them.😊
  • There both gorgeous 🥰 but ill go with Corniche like the rag top were you can put it down as a convertible during the spring and summer time. Thanks for sharing this Bob.
  • Your Rolls car's are lucky to have a great owner. Thank you for taking care of them. 🤜🤛🐭

Every time I get the itch to buy a Rolls Royce, I watch your videos and I am healed for another three months. Haha. I love early Silver Shadows, esp. LWB.
  • The little orange light on the front wing is an indicator repeater , I believe the 1967 car has incorrect rear light clusters, up until around 1973 there was no reverse light between the red and orange section, the reverse lights were 2 round units fitted to the boot lid 1 either side of the number plate, the 67 is set up for uk as regards to the windscreen wipers , and the corniche name only came from 1971 onwards, prior to this they were silver shadow convertible. Usa cars had to have fender marker lights fitted for the 1968 model year onwards. Lovely cars, thank you.

Bob, the fenders and front clip are bolted on. The seams are just finished (probably with lead--typical coach building of the time) rather than exposed.
  • @MASS_ONE
I was a Valet at The Wynn, loved drivin them.
  • 67 Shadow is set up for Right Hand Drive , and yes it's a solex Carb on the Corniche , i'm currently in the process of buying a Shadow here in the UK

You were right Bob, the 1985 Rolls will have the 6.75 L V-8 engine as where the 1967 is equipped with the 6.25 L V-8, both nearly identical engines but they increased the displacement for 3 reasons. From the Silver Shadow's launch in 1965 Air Conditioning was an "Option" until 1973, in that year Air Conditioning was made as standard equipment in all Rolls Royce & Bentley models as well as the United States mandate of emissions equipment being installed in all new cars from over seas being sold in the US, in addition, 1973 saw the mandate of 5 mph impact safety bumpers ''further increasing the car's weight'' the mandate for American made cars was a few years earlier, Because of the horsepower and increased weight drag of these 3 things, the displacement was increased and the ignition timing advanced to offset any sluggish lethargic feel the car might now have.
