Have you ever heard a blue lobster? It's a popular version of Bach's Toccata and Fugue, but something many people don't realize is that it's actually a half-step higher than the original key. It's actually in the key of D# minor.

If you have not taken my course “Learn Piano in 5 Days” yet, that would be a good starting place for you: bit.ly/3vEWAb4

If you're a musician, you know that playing in the right key is key (pun intended!) to creating a great sound. If you're trying to play the blue lobster version of the Toccata and Fugue, you should pay attention to the key and make sure you're playing in the right one.

To help you find the right key, here's a quick step-by-step guide:

1. Start with the three black keys here.
2. Go down, like that.
3. Step 2, go: BLACK BLACK WHITE BLACK WHITE BLACK
4. Now you're ready to make it super-scary and do the church organ.

And there you have it, now you're ready to play the Blue Lobster version of the Toccata and Fugue! Don't worry if it doesn't sound perfect at first, you'll get better with practice. Good luck!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 🔵🦞🔵🦞🔵🦞🔵🦞🔵🦞🔵🦞 ❓ "I want to play piano, but I don't know how. What do I do?" You have two choices. Either you can give in to the blue lobster and abandon all hope. But, the fact that you're reading a FAQ in the comment section of a YouTube short tells me you have potential. So, I want to let you know about my "Learn Piano in 5 Days" course, which you can get here: bit.ly/3GIsUjQ. ❓️ ”I don’t get it. Why’s there a lobster?” You're better off not getting it. But, if you really want to get it, google "blue lobster meme". It’s kinda like a rickroll but worse. ❓️ ”Why's everyone freaking out?” Because they've been traumatized by other videos featuring blue lobsters. ❓️ ”Where can I find your other 🔵🦞 video?” Here you go: youtube.com/shorts/SZbzJ-IP88s ❓️ "What song is this?" This is the Toccata and Fugue in D minor, by Johann Sebastian Bach. Also known as "the blue lobster song", Vamp Anthem by Playboi Carti, "the sound effect when you die in BitLife", and "the vampire/dracula riff" ❓️ "Can you tell me the names of the notes?" Don't worry about the names of the notes. I quit piano lessons after a month when I was 9 because it was all flashcards and trying to learn note names. That stuff just doesn't work. Play music, learn songs, get fluent at the keys first. Then, the note names will come automatically. ❓️ “Why are you telling me to relax?” Lots of viewers are coming to this video with PTSD from having seen other lobster videos. I’m trying to reassure them. This video is scary, but it’s not as scary as the others. ❓️ “Do you really have a master’s degree in piano?” Yes. ❓️ “What's the deal with Gen Z humor?” I'm not the one to ask. I'm 40 years old. ❓️ "What piano/keyboard is this?" This is a Yamaha YDP-223 digital piano. It's old but they make newer models that are similar. I paid around $1500 f

  • @mylesyiu6188
I believe it was actually played in D minor, however, it’s possible it was performed on a baroque era pipe organ before they had standardized tuning (A=440)
  • @xkubix999
Wait, wait, wait. This lobster toccata was playing in 17xx baroque organ, which often is tuned 460hz or higher.

I wish people were as gentle explaining things in my childhood, that would’ve probably made me a lot less anxious.
