How long has The Simpsons been on for? Well long enough that a lot of it's jokes just wouldn't fly today. Not just because sense of humour changes from generation to generation, but also because as network television becomes more open to things like nudity and violence, you will find less jokes that may come off as racist, sexist or insensitive. So we went back and binged all of the Simpsons, tough job we know, and found all the best jokes that, if they remade the episode now, would never made it into the final cut.

The Simpsons ARE American stereotypes, all characters are stereotypes of different cultures!! I'm a Latin American and I've never been offended by Bumblebee man (or even in El misterioso viaje de nuestro Jomer, when they straight up mocked my home country Guatemala), like Matt Groening said, people loves to pretend they're offended, my brother is gay and he grew up loving this show!!! It's still our favorite!! People should learn the difference between a joke and straight up Hate speech, racism should be taken seriously and be fucking erradicated, but also important, not to be so frickin sensitive towards everything and everyone

You guys and girls at Watch Mojo are way too offended by everything. It is people like you guys is the reason why Apu is not around on the show anymore. Hope you feel really happy because you killed off one of the best characters of the show.

If you think Homer's Phobia was a homophobic episode, you missed the entire point of the episode
  • @Nonjola
Really? Dressing up as a totem pole is considered to controversial? How sensitive are we here in the west?
  • @MarkyD1967
Soon we’ll be watching a blank screen on TV as EVERYTHING will be offensive to EVERYONE.

"Top 10 Simpsons Jokes That Would NEVER Work On TV Now"? You mean "Top 10 Simpsons Jokes That Triggers SJW".
  • I'm not sure if watchmojo realizes this, but every character on The Simpsons is a stereotype in one way or another. That's the joke. We think its funny because we know they're not entirely accurate. They're caricatures

Homer's Phobia was a cornerstone tv episode for the LGBTQ community. It gave a gay character a true personality that wasn't totally focused on his sexuality. The episode didn't affirm Homer's homophobia and went to lengths to discredit it by the end of the episode. As with many episodes of All in the Family and Maude, the world may be a less accepting place if this episode hadn't aired.
  • This whole episode/list is a monument to how pathetically sensitive and humorless society has become.
  • no they still work today. if youre offended dont watch it. i love how they mocked us "eyetalians"😂🍻
  • @smite4032
Dont tell me i am the only one who has no problem with any of this
  • @tohruie
Who else prefers the older episodes?

I honestly think calling Apu offensive is downright dumb. He’s a decent character who is distinctly supposed to be a first-generation immigrant, so he would have a lot of Indian characteristics. I’ve seen a blog talking about how Apu reminded him of his father. One more thing to thing; I say it’s perfectly fine for voice actors to play characters of different ethnicities, as long as they portray them well. That’s just my opinion. If you have a problem or see something worth criticism (pretty likely), I’m open to anything as long as it’s fair.

I've lost every. Single. Shred. Of respect for this fucking show (watchmojo, not Simpsons... though the latter isn't doing so well these days)
  • @caleb1413
Do you have no understanding of the concept of satire? Which raises the question, why the hell are you watching the Simpsons?
