Hotel safety is one of the most important topics women can learn about to help protect us when we travel. That's why I have gathered some of my old favorites and a few finds of hotel safety gadgets found on Amazon to help keep your hotel room secure. Solo female travel has grown enormously in popularity these past few years and I am so happy many of you are deciding to start living your dreams to travel the globe in search of new cultures and experiences.

I am currently on a fun adventure through Costa Rica traveling with @TheAwkwardTourists @trovatrip Let's help keep you safe when staying in any location. These Amazon hotel safety gadgets can be used in both hotels and home share rentals like AirBnB, and VRBO. These Amazon finds for hotel safety won't hurt your rental so you won't have to pay incidentals. PLUS, they are all very travel friendly and will pack up small.

During my travel in India, the hotel manager tried to come into my room at 4 am with the master key. lucky I had latched the door. But now I m paranoid about hotel rooms which dont have latches. Thanks for this video
  • Great ideas, but one word of warning when using devices to prevent your door from being opened, if there’s a fire or any other emergency then these devices will delay your exit. Just something to bear in mind.

The second door jam looks like a really good idea. That said, it might make escaping the room in an emergency very difficult.

I used that first lock on my apartment door in Playa Del Carmen one day when I was nervous about some loud noises one night and it got completely stuck and all my windows had bars so I was stuck inside for hours until the maintenance man walked by the next day and was able to use a hack saw to let me out. Be careful of humidity as wood doors can swell, as in my case. ❤️

If you have unlockable window, patio or balcony door, put a stick or pole on or a long the track. Doing this limits the ability to open the door and how wide it will open

*All homes should have carbon monoxide detectors

Thanks so much for the great ideas! I think we tend to take our safety for granted a lot. As a frequent female traveler I am all about doing whatever I can to protect myself. I just entered your giveaway. I’ve seen some other tips too on how to use a towel or 2 coat hangers to hang over your deadbolt/door lock/latch so it can’t be opened easily, just in case you forget any of these gadgets.
  • Thank you for the sliding glass door alarm!! I’m going to Mexico and will be buying one. Great video👍🏼
  • @hockeygirl8401
Thank you so much for your advice. I have so many of those in my Amazon cart. Finally video a video that gets to the bottom of things and doesn’t veer off topic. You’re doing a great job helping your fellow sisters.

Thank you, Staci! This is great. Just entered for the backpack for all my work travels!
  • GREAT video on safety. I am 75 yrs young and have been doing group travels for only 18 years. My core group is 10 - 12 seniors - usually all women. By the grace of God, we have not had any problems. As I hear about problematic issues, I adopt the safety tool to avoid the problem, i,e, CO2 alarm. It is wonderful to see the application of the different devices with great explanation on how to use them. Oh, I signed up for the Minkeeblue bag giveaway. I was already looking for something like that. Thank you AND Minkeeblue for the opportunity. You offer fantastic value to the world of travel. Stay the course.
  • Great video!! You provided a lot of good safe tips. We will go and get our items for our next trip. I'll also tell my granddaughter as she will be starting college next year. I do request you talk about video cameras in rooms. This was my first time watching you, may have done one already.
