Absolutely every single criticism about the movie is solved by the books. This movie is a travesty
  • @ChildOfApollo
What I love most about this movie is how much Rick Riordan HATES the movie
  • @ohohoho249
Fun fact of the day: the author hates the movie just as much as his fans
  • Book Percy: my mom is the best person ever and I love and respect her so much. Movie Percy: welp guess she dead lol
  • @QuantumParticle
What I found most annoying about this film was how Ares is barely even mentioned, despite him LITERALLY BEING THE MAIN VILLAIN IN THE BOOK.
  • First rule of the Percy Jackson fandom: NEVER, EVER mention the movies.
  • About Chiron: The books depicted his wheelchair as basically a magical pocket-dimension, effectively being a snail shell for the horse bit.
  • I love how Critic just refers to Annabeth as that weird laugh-cough noise Grover made when Percy asked what her name was.
  • Having Harry Potter failing at being a generic youth protagonist because he's actually an interesting character with a well-defined personality was a nice touch.
  • @carolynn_rose
Books: Percy is a lovable goofball who tries always tries his best, Annabeth is an intelligent and sarcastic girl with a heart of gold, Grover is a loyal and protective friend, Hades is NOT PORTRAYED AS SATAN, the world is built up and interesting. Movies: Nah
  • When Critic praises the ingenuity of the Lotus scene I held back screams of "cuz it's actually one of the least tinkered with parts of the book!"
  • I love how potter is resented because he has the most personality, pretty clever
  • @XanKreigor
"Look how they massacred my boy!" - Every person who read Percy Jackson books
  • @DrSarcasmable
Nostalgia Critic: Pointing out all the plot holes, poor character performances, and stupid story elements People who have read the books: Strained tea kettle noises

the beauty of the percy jackson books and fandom is that the fandom doesnt need to imagine themselves as the main character, and we dont want to. we imagine ourselves as another character in the world, we go along with percy and his friends. we're with him and cheering him on his first day of camp, crying with him as he see's beloved friends die, and we laugh at his corny jokes. the books use that angle to give him an actual personality and make him someone who we love. he has good and bad traits, he has people he loves, he has things that are usually sacrificed to make a character more "relatable". hes unique, and not really like anyone. i cant relate to half of the things he does and is, however i relate to the world itself. a place where kids who dont fit in and lose hope in themselves belong. its even easier for me, a kid with adhd who's disorder holds them back, it gives me a place to feel like i belong. it even gives a way for people without adhd or dyslexia to see themselves in this world, with characters such as percy's mom, and racheal, but they too have personalities and goals many people dont. when my problems to do with adhd get really bad, i'll often start reading percy jackson books. you know what i wont do?? watch the FUCKING movies that take everything i love OUT THE WINDOW. they are a disgrace to the books which make me feel warm and comforted, and i hope the show is better then the clusterfuck that were the movies.
  • Spoiler Alert. Things missing from the book: 1. There is a thing called the Mist, which prevents normal mortals from noticing the Greeks gods. 2. Percy is a hilarious protagonist with all the one-liners. 3. The mission is to get Zeus's lightning bolt back from the Underworld, but Percy is only really going to save his mom. 4. The pearls they're searching for in the movie were just given to Percy in St. Louis in the book. 5. Sally stays behind in the Underworld, while Annabeth and Grover only try to sacrifice themselves to save Sally. 6. Percy has a fight with Ares, not Luke, at the end of the book. 7. Percy can talk to horses. 8. Capture the Flag was more fun in the book and Poseidon claimed Percy as his son when it was finished. 9. Percy was twelve, not sixteen. 10. Percy was given the quest by the Oracle and left Camp Half-Blood in full view of everyone. He didn't need to sneak out. There is more, but these were the biggest inconsistencies to come to mind. I'm not saying the movie was perfect, far from it, but please, read the book if you want the whole story. I'm afraid the Critic's mean-spirited critique toward one of my favorite book series might be turning people away. Also, leave Harry Potter alone. He doesn't deserve to be yelled at and abused by the Critic.
  • @Jollerygrokes
The books are a lot more interesting and actually make sense.
  • @KingsBard
Dear directors who want to write something with Greek mythology. HADES IS NOT SATAN!!! HE IS NOT EVIL THE ONLY MYTH WHERE HE DOES SOMETHING VILLAINOUS IS WHEN HE JUSTIFIABLY PUNISHES SOMEONE
  • @Londronable
Learning Greece myth in a museum. Uses Hercules instead of Heracles. THAT MAKES SENSE!
