  • I've watched a handful of blueberry planting videos in the last couple weeks because I'm getting ready to plant 3 low Bush varieties in Illinois. I have to say you have the most informative and easy to watch video out there! Keep up the great work!

Southmoon, Misty and Sunshine blue have done well for me in Zone9. I have them growing in old JD whiskey barrels that I cut in half and and old wine barrel. They’ve done great in them. As you mentioned, much easier to control the pH. I just did a light pruning the other day, but I have found that pruning right after harvest has done well for me so I had plenty of time for re-growth before Fall/Winter since that’s where the new berries will be.
  • Thanks for the easy and helpful explanation of how to take care of blueberries! I love your channel!

Thank you, brother, for another good video. Here in Tn, also zone 7, we can grow a variety of different blueberry hybrids. I have had my 15 bushes so long I can't remember most of the names, but 'Tifblue' was one. One thing I did was to plant early, mid-season, and late flowering varieties to have fruit almost all summer and sometimes into September, and to save the crop from any late frosts. and I will be trying that 'Krewer' in a big pot as soon as I can find the plant.
  • I’m zone 8b (pac nw) and I have 10 mature bushes that do well! They are not in full sun and I have a ton of mulch on them which I think helps. Great helpful video!

I have Southmoon, Jubilee, and O'Neal growing in large clay pots here in zone 9. They are several years old now, and prolific bloomers.
  • I didn’t know that I need to prune my blueberries. I’ve added 2 new ones in wine barrels in addition to three in the ground. Great video!

I'm in zone 8b (far Northern CA). My very favorite is Chandler, and next is Toro. Both grow vigorously for me in both containers and in raised beds.

Hi from Montreal Canada! I have a basic soil so i planted my blueberry in a pot ... in the soil! So, in winter the roots wont have freeze burn, neather to much heat in the summer. The plant is doing well.

Good to know about blueberries. I never attempted to grow them, thought they were too difficult.
