Hi guys, I'm finally opening up about how we got robbed & the luxury bags that were stolen alongside our luggage & personal items. Filming this video felt very off for me but I do hope that by sharing what I learned from it can help at least one person out there.

Regarding finding the bags being sold on instagram & not being able to recover them it was just another part of this lesson, my intention with this video is not to send any type of hate to anyone so I decided to keep the identity of this page private & just share with authorities with the hopes that we can get to the bottom of this.

Thank you so much ‪@margavaluxen‬ & ‪@GeorgiaSwain‬ for the help and kindness shown to me
would highly encourage to follow them on instagram and Youtube.

Not posting anything on IG in real time is such a valuable tip! Also, don't disclose your home base, make it hard for people to find you. Stay safe, everyone. ❤

I am sorry it happens to you and hope you will get the bags back. Italian lady here who travels all over the world and mostly solo. Sadly designer things make you a target. The only time I almost got robbed, ironically, was in Milan after leaving Hermes with their orange shoppers. After that when I go luxury shopping I either take a cab or ask for anonymous shoppers. Pro tips for travelling anywhere: no luxury luggage (gets damaged and makes you a visible target anytime you carry it and in your hotel room), no visible jewelry and luxury items unless you are going to a specific place and coming back with uber/taxis. When you are out exploring just wear nice outfits that do not scream tourist or "I am rich". For Italy specifically, always close your purses and keep them with a hand/under your shoulder in city/crowded places, do not leave your luggage in cars, especially at autogrills on the motorways. Leave one person in the car, if possible. Other risky places are near the beach. Better to arrive at the next hotel, leave everything, and go exploring afterwards. Anytime I am with luggage I try to look as inconspicuous as possible and blend in. If you rent a car, try to avoid luxury models and any car that is visibly rental, that immediately identifies you as a tourist. The only place in the world where I would feel safe not taking precautions may be Japan

In the end, the most important thing is that you all returned home safe and sound. ❤️

Being robbed feels like such a personal violation! I’m so sorry this happened to you. There are so many horrible people out there, and yet there are so many good and kind people as well. It is hard to focus on that when this happens! Yes, you are truly blessed in life!

Omg, Lou... I am so sorry this happened to you. Your wedding day is supposed to be the most cherished memory. Getting robbed days after your wedding is horrible and I could see why you would have a hard time separating the two events. I hope you and Paolo heal and have a prosperous marriage.

The reseller in Philippines definitely knew the bags were stolen.

This is heart breaking Lou, so sorry this happend to you and everyone else who had their items stolen. It sounds like a lot to process but you gave some great advice. I need to document all my items better and like you say, don't save for special occasions wear and enjoy because we never know what might happen, all we have is now.
  • You should be very proud of your emotional regulation, I’m taking tips from your handling of this; but I do hope that you may be able to recover some of what you have lost, especially your Grandmother’s pieces 💕

When I can‘t fit my bags into the safe in a hotel room, I use a long metal chain with a lock and chain the bags through their handles to something sturdy in the hotel room, for example a radiator, enclosed parts of a sofa or bed, towel holder that is drilled into the wall….you can get Creative 🤓 That way, if someone wants to steal a bag they would have to destroy the handle or the chain or rip the hotel room apart.
  • I was raised with this major family philosophy: Every time you complain about something bad that happened to you, take a deep breath, close your eyes, and you'll find 2 (or more) things to be thankfull for this very same bad event. And it will imediatly change the way you'll feel about t. That's pretry much a thought about the famous "Don't worry, be happy and "Keep calm, and carry on"❤

I never let anyone come in my hotel room to do housekeeping until I leave. They have asked and we say no. Notify front desk. This has helped not be robbed from inside the hotel. I am really sorry this happened.
  • Our house was broken into 16 yrs. ago. To this day it still hurts. They took some real valuable and sentimental pieces that are not replaceable. For a long time I felt just awful in my own home. It was a true invasion of privacy they even went through my under things. Hope things "look" up for you.
  • @Maryannesquire
I love how all these individual resellers pretend like they don’t know what they’re buying is likely stolen. They’re buying authentic bags in good condition online for a small fraction of what they’re worth. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out why that is.

Many hugs to you, Polo and your family. Being robbed is an emotional, scary ordeal, let alone grieving the loss of your most precious hand me downs from your Grandmother 😢 I'm glad you're both safe. ❤️ ❤
  • @MelC0530
I lost my grandma last year and I know what it feels like to loose something that represents her and such sentimental and that linkage of that person. I’m happy you guys are safe and back home. But really really if I could or if anyone could. I wish you got those precious treasure of yours back. Air hug to you Lou ❤

My goodness, such sad news! 😰 I was robbed too: I shipped my DIOR to a consignment shop for resale via FEDEX and the box arrived empty! EMPTY!!! It was stolen. Makes you wonder when even reputable shipping services aren't safe anymore. I'm so sad this was so close to your wedding. 😕 Stay strong and pls don't blame yourself--you work hard and life will continue to bless you with great things! 🥰🥰

Use American Express travel insurance. They’ll cover everything. They are excellent!
  • @roseyscott3811
Firstly, I am so sad to hear about your losses; secondly, it's refreshing to see you working through all the emotions associated with this terrible violation, and lastly, you are a dear for your willingness to use your situation to help others. Rosey ❤

I’m so so sorry for what happened to you and your family. But the way that you’re handling this is incredible. I can see your strength thru the video. So glad no one got hurt, but the loss of your grandma’s jewelry so heartbroken bc sentimental value is everything 😢 sending so much love and protection your way 🩷

Can you please tell exactly how this happened? I’m still not clear. May I add something else for people. Do not ever let someone working on your property park behind you and block you in. So that they know when you leave the house. I had very expensive jewelry stolen that way from my bedroom. And one of the things was a charm bracelet where I had had every charm cast from gold from my late mother’s handed down rings that I wouldn’t wear. I had all the molds made myself. I didn’t know it was gone until I went to wear it. And didn’t figure out when it was stolen for quite a while.
