Some fans say the series should have been about just him as the main character.

His actor is one of the few that verbally admitted to being a fan of halo prior to being a part of the project. Seems like his actor probably had a better understanding of the temperaments of Spartans and the writing allowed him to play the role we wanted
-
If fans are liking a side character more than the main character, you definitely fucked up
-
When he told that female Spartan the gun grease is seeping into her head and making her ask dumb ass questions a tear came to my eye lol... the only man in this fkin series who's taking things seriously
-
That one moment when Vannak acts more like Master Chief in this show than "Master Chief" does in the shows entirety
-
He’s a fan of the franchise. He knows the traits of a Spartan. I loved his character
-
"Have you ever heard a grunt beg for his life?" "Pathetic." Gigachad moment
-
This man is a Chad, I agree that they should've just made the series with him as the MC instead of ruining chief's character
-
Vannak is definitely a good character and I want him to be canon as a spartan 2. Kai is a good character, want her to be canon but a spartan 4.
-
If they just started calling him master chief I wouldn’t have blinked an eye
-
Can he be made cannon? This dude should’ve been Spartan Locke. He’s a genuine Spartan.
-
When he said “chief always has a plan” he was talking about himself
-
VANNAK IS THE ONLY CHARACTER I WANT TO BECOME CANON
-
He's my most favorite spartan second is kai. Vannak is kinda like the bungie chief where he speaks less words and most of the times he keeps the helmet on. And man I hope MCC or Halo infinite adds his armor soon.

when Spartan Locke is given personality.

Not gonna lie, I prefer likable side characters rather than a lead role in some shows and movies, they're usually the coolest more efficient and a badass, and sometimes they're all of those things unintentionally, meanwhile most writers are so busy making the lead a emotional "relatable" mess

Spartans must be bonded to one another and no one else Spoken like a machine in a man’s body Like it should be
-
Vannak trying to save this show, and all our love in HALO
-
Everyone acts like a Spartan 4 Meanwhile he acts like a Spartan 2

Absolutely blame the writers for the f-ups in the show. The actors and actresses did the best they could with what they were given.
