  • Great great work bro... but Jesus you’re young... you’re gonna want those fingers for a while!!! Cmon bro! And kickback is real! Be a little careful man... and dust collection! Damn I feel like an old man lol

A comment, show your finished project first. And then the step by step assembly. Great video. Wife will love these.

Awesome effort man. I think there is something to be said about some of the more egregious safety concerns, but overall, I love what you're doing.
  • As someone who has had 3 ER visits after trying to be careful I agree with Brian some safety measures are in order. Invest in a Gripper and a zero clearance insert. I cringed every time I saw those thin pieces sneak down the insert plate. Don't reach over the blade to grab a cut off, that was one of my ER visits.

Fantastic Video, Well done. Amazing & Innovative Projects! Wow! I've been using a table saw for a very long time... I'm a tradesman, and I'm definitely not a Safety Nerd. After a few rare, but exciting incidents, in my shop many years ago... I realized I wasn't smart, I was simply just very lucky... About fifteen years ago, I opted to prioritize safety my home shop. Today, I'm much safer, and I still enjoy my home workshop, and I can still count to Ten! :-) Josh, I'm now both an avid fan and new subscriber. I truly plan to watch many of your other great videos. You are a very smart fellow... I love the Barrell & much more! With all politeness and respect: I cringed many times when you made a cuts.

Just a suggestion, since i don't see a dust collector: Invest in an air compressor with nozzle to clear out the collected dust and shavings in your tools. You can pick them up used for a fairly reasonable price. Now that I think about it, I think Matthias Wandel has videos for a few varieties that you could make for yourself, your skills certainly seem up to the challenge. Aside from keeping the shop "tidy" it also keeps your tools from overheating (clogged air flow), breaking down (gunking up moving parts can lead to wobble, jammed bearings and increasingly inaccurate cuts), rust - dust is a moisture magnet and is a safer work space too. I had a teacher lose most of his pinky when he was batching out a bunch of parts for a student project but didn't turn on the dust collector (in a hurry likely - teachers get too little prep time for practical related classes, unless they take their own unpaid time). Dipped his pinky into the blade of the jointer when the piece slicked through the dust faster than it should have. Heh, sorry, lecture over. I loved the barrel idea. Hmm. Great ideas and keep up the work!
  • Your projects are awesome. Didn't realize the barrel was going to be a functional wine barrel. Mind blown
  • Sorry, I forgot to show it but tha barrel staves are a 1/2" thick and have a bend of 1.5" meaning when put together the barrel is 3 inches wider in the middle than at the ends. Please let me know if I am missing any other measurements.

What impresses me most about your work, aside from the excellent table saw skills, is your ability to limit the wasted wood. I’d love to see a video on how you come up with the designs for your projects. Good stuff man!
  • @waynewalton2299
cant believe you still have all your fingers, smashed the end of mine from kick back!!!!!
  • @paul-ld9vh
Those are really nice projects! It's nice to see using every tool and engineering an idea to make a really nice gift out of a common wood. Great video and thanks for posting it.
  • @jimmylovesbikes
Wow. You are a young and very accomplished woodworker!!! Amazing builds from a 2x6.
  • @tonycandido864
Great job kid! Your helping to keep the art of woodcraft alive for your generation!, You’ve got a good imagination, keep it up!
  • @PeeVee1979
I see a great future for you with woodworking, really cool ideas and executions. It's always great to see young kids getting into woodworking. That barrel looks really nice, I might just steal that idea for myself at some point. But just like many others mentioned, I'd pay a hell of a lot more attention when working with table saw. It doesn't take much for a kickback when crosscutting against the fence. The very least you could do is use a riving knife. But yeah, keep going, I for sure will keep watching what you come up with next!
  • @jonathan1613
Love the projects you built, just saw a lot of safety red flags but you haven't lost a finger yet so cheers!

The finish on the bulls turned out awesome!!!
