Colorado & Coach Prime take down Nebraska, Texas rolls the Tide & rises in Klatt’s Top 10 Rankings

Published 2023-09-11
FOX Sports’ lead college football analyst Joel Klatt marvels at the atmosphere in Boulder as Coach Prime won his home debut over Nebraska. Klatt breaks down what impressed him about their win while also considering how incredible it is that a Colorado team that was 1-11 last season is captivating the country right now. Next, he shifts to Texas’ huge win over Alabama and why it shows that the Longhorns are legitimate national championship contenders this year. He also reveals how far the win in Tuscaloosa launched Texas up his Top 10 rankings. Klatt states whether that game was a sign that Alabama under Saban is set for a fall from the sport’s elite programs. He then discusses how scary USC is this year and why he believes this team is different than last year’s group. He also goes in on how Texas A&M continues to fall short in the Jimbo Fisher era after their loss in Miami. Finally, Klatt reacts to the news of Michigan State HC Mel Tucker being suspended without pay due to an investigation into sexual harassment allegations.

Joel you are so underrated as an analyst!
  • @KennyDaG35
Rare that college football is THIS exciting this early 🤗
  • Of Note: One of the reasons that the TX - Bama wasn’t seen by as many people as the CU - NU game was the fact half the country was blacked-out by the Spectrum and Disney/ESPN dispute.
  • @rootsma5746
Klatt is the most sincere and prepared analyst.
  • @brennansmith4670
As a CU student, last year was so tough. We needed this so bad or the football program might have never recovered. Us fans still when we were 1-11 last year we still sold out some games and we even rushed to field for that one win. Now that we have a good team it’s boulder is gonna go insane for the next few months

Joel Klatt you are the only one that gave Miami a chance.
  • @ChrisMurk
I know it's hard for Joel to contain himself when he does Colorado games because he played for the Buffs and you can hear in his voice when he does Colorado games that he's excited for the program and I hope Colorado keeps proving the haters wrong because me personally I believe in Coach Prime and his staff

That stadium in Boulder (Folsom Field) HAS to be one of the most electric, most beautiful atmospheres I have ever witnessed. Been to Clemson, South Carolina, Tuscaloosa, the Swamp and other big stadium venues and this experience was insane for a 53,000 seat stadium. Not a bad seat in the house, fans are ridiculously close to the field, and that scenery, OMG. This thing was played at 10am local time; a night game must be off the hook. Definitely a bucket list experience if you love college football.......
  • I love how Klatt is giving honest criticism of Colorado…not hating or cheerleading..honest analysis

Hey Joel! Been a CU fan since the 80s! Congratulations on your successful career as an analyst and calling the games! What adds to this new era for the BUFFS is your relationship with the school and football program! I am in no way in suggesting you are partial to the team. Your very professional and not showing any favoritism at all. Speaking from a PLAYERS perspective in great! All this makes for valuable content from your show! Take care sir!
  • You’re right! I’ve never listened to you with all due respect until your commentary on Colorado and Coach Prime. You are so right about that.

As a Nebraska fan it’s really frustrating seeing a team that was arguably worse than ours fix themselves up in one offseason after we’ve been rebuilding for 8 years. We’re about out of steam over here from being disappointed so much so often

Your insight on college teams is outstanding. I'm just learning about college teams and your insight provides such great knowledge its very much appreciated for a novice like myself.
  • @wesangelle
This show is great, Joel Klatt is the best college sports analyst. To the production team: the only reason I’m not subscribed is because I don’t want all the short clips from the long show filling up my subscription tab.
  • @conmaz
Love Klatt as he tells like it is and is a great color commentator on various games on tv. 😊
  • @mus434
Lets not forget, conditioning is going to be a plus, if you not ready to play 4 quarters against Colorado you will get beat if its close, that conditioning coach needs to be mentioned!!!!

Rare that college football is THIS exciting this early . I'm here for Joel, same as every week. Voice of college football..

You hinted at something I noticed about CU in both their games so far: superior physical fitness. The TCU offense was running on fumes for the last drive while the Buffs’ defense still had had half a tank. Nebraska tanked before the end of the third quarter. A major tactic against CU for the rest of the year will be slowing them down to mitigate the advantage of their better VO2 max.
