Ooo, NT Wright... I haven't even listened yet but am giving a thumbs up like straight away πŸ˜† Shane Willard got me onto listening to NT. Have not read NT's books yet but they are on the list to get to.

Thank you for balancing out the volumes of your two mics! Tom Wright is soft spoken, many Podcasters stab me in the ears when trying to listen to an interview with him

I wish we could have more of such discussions!!

I would LOVE to see N.T. Wright and Bart Ehrman have a two hour discussion on the kingdom of God because it seems to be what originally tripped up Ehrman and started moving him away from trusting Jesus.

I feel for you working on two or three projects at a time. The things God calls us scholars to!
  • I enjoy listening to Tom and enjoyed your podcast. Is there a difference between this viewpoint and Christian Nationalism espoused by Joel Webbon, Stephen Wolfe and Doug Wilson ?

Plenty of truth to speak to power in Emperor Trudeau's Canada!

With reference to the Spurgeon quotes noted below, I posed this question at the Spurgeon Library Conference this Spring. The response illustrates the difficulty we have in speaking to such current 'political' issues (as opposed to past issues) . I'd like feedback on how others see this response. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn5klg_IC1E&t=2235s

And they said unto him, "Do you do children's parties ?" And the Lord said, "No". But they did press him and said, "Give us another one !".

It seems to me that John the Baptist, (whom Jesus called the greatest man born among women and likened him to Elijah), set a great example of what a prophetic ministry looks like in politics. Herod was an evil man who did great harm to his enemies and to his nation. John the Baptist did not tell Herod off. He simply told him that having his brother's wife was sin, that it was wrong.

What do you do when MAGA Trump is wrongly promoted as God’s anointed ….. how do you have a discussion in Christian charity!
