Highly intelligent, easy to train, remain playful as puppies all their lives, excellent with children and other animals, and handsome too. I've had two goldens over the years, I trained them to voice, whistle, and hand signals, they both did well at field trials, I used them for both waterfowl and upland game bird hunting. A well trained dog is always a pleasure to have around the house.

One dog man. I miss my very old friend half moon kodiak,the kodie bear. His fathers name was bama,s golden bear, and his mother was sun glow Missy. There will never be another good,good kind loveing family dog,like he was. I truly hope to see him again someday in the here after.

Dean Koontz, popular author, had a golden named Trixie who wrote her very own book entitled "A Big Little Life." Worth a read. I got it from my library, years ago. She taught him a lot, and her abiding spirit is still in their home.
