The Astonishing Value All-Rounder

Published 2024-07-20
YAMAHA DGX 670 portable piano and arranger keyboard arrives in the shack. I bought this one for my own pleasure but thought you might enjoy hanging out for an unboxing, try it out for the first time and share a demo and first impressions review.

  • Just from the title and cover photo I knew it was the DGX-670! For $850 US, it's a fully blown PROFESSIONAL arranger akin to the PSR-9000 in a Digital Piano package! ALL the features, recording, automation while recording, effects, and a lot of the sounds are there! It's unbelievable how they put so much into this thing at this price point! The only downside is the lack of MIDI ports in favor of a single USB MIDI interface. But even with that, you get both audio and MIDI to your computer with that interface. And instead of a floppy drive, a front panel USB storage port! Oh and did I mention 88 Keys?! 😊😊
  • Yes please, more videos of all the DGX-670 features, styles, sounds, etc. Thanks Woody

I have the preceding model, the DGX-660. + matching stand and 3-pedal unit. It has held up well for several years. I am not a good pianist, I mainly play guitar, but it's a decent unit especially for the price.

A fantastic purchased one about a year ago. One of the most enjoyable giga-able electric pianos. You practically have a full band and drummer that doesn’t argue about getting paid with and/or is never late for rehearsals.
  • @ProFleer-ep4wq
Some mighty fine playing there. Great chops. Perfect rhythm.

  • good to see you having fun, nice sounds (via output) you are getting closer to your own composition. . watch out Bruce hornsby , , , , a bit.
  • @daanbaas2962
Thanks for the great video Woody 👍 It’s amazing what you can buy these days for under a thousand trans-Atlantic beer tokens. A while ago I ended up with a Roland fp-e50 and I absolutely love it. This offering from Yamaha seems to offer even more for less. Again thanks for your videos. Keep it up!
  • @marknhopgood
You got a great smile. Glad that keyboard made you happy.
