  • Manage your mindset. Control what you can control. Improvise as needed. Do your best. That's what I tell myself!
  • @wcollins4191
I dedicate Monday-Tuesday to listing from 8 am - Noon I bank all these listings, Wednesday - Saturday I try to source the early part of the day. Organized & Sku my inventory & I pull sales daily @ 3 pm & ship it's all about a routine & organized that makes it much easier. I try to bank 200 items in case I need a day off. When I don't source I pull from my dead pile I keep a tote of items on hand at all times.

Kevin, we can find a WAY or we find an excuse! When we change our mindset, we change our life.
  • The “your on YouTube” others use drives me crazy! Rather than be envious of others…I like to see what is making someone successful and see if I can try that out and see if it works for me….ugh people…thanks for the videos!
  • I have to say, even though I’m younger than you I feel like the info you give on these videos are usually in the category of “wise beyond your years” - I myself appreciate you going in depth with your knowledge on these topics. Much appreciated!
  • I think a place like that would be a giant winner. That is something that would be great for all of us. Great video and all the best to you and the family
  • I think your idea of having a marketplace for us resellers is a great idea! I always have a hard time finding good inventory in the fall and winter because of the lack of yard sales. So I would love to buy a big box of jeans for example.
  • Resellers ruined it for themselves at goodwill. I work there. When we priced really cheap we had resellers running down people putting new product out and arguing. Regular people didn’t get anything good. Now we do about a third of eBay. The scummy resellers stopped coming. The knowledgeable ones still make money. Normal people get stuff. I resell sometimes but I personally am glad the prices went up. People got too entitled thinking they were owed a 10x on their money. If you can’t make a living doubling and tripling your money. You’re not doing it right
  • To be honest more YouTubers have ruined the opportunities for “founding resellers”. Created more amateur and in and out resellers. And created more awareness to IRS, post office, and also to the goodwill and sources. Making this an even tougher field than it used to be. The YouTube resellers are now depending more on the channels, speaking events, and also their own merchandise sales. I really don’t believe there is anything wrong with what the YouTube resellers are doing, they found a niche to make a career and i still say go for it. However there are reactions to every action.
  • Reselling full time is not feasible anymore All modes of gettung inventories have become expensive, fees have increased and shipping is so high Buyers have decreased
  • @wakeupbell2491
I find it's beneficial to check back in at the Goodwill. While overall their prices have gone up, I do find enough things that have been priced by someone who didn't see the value in an item.
  • @rescueme1060
3 sales and 1 non payment for me this MONTH so far. Horrendous.
  • @henrys3629
I have suggested other non-Goodwill stores or swap meets, but people cannot be bothered to go to because it's 10-15 minutes farther away. It's not my fault I can get 50c clothes, 25c CDs, $1 DVDs, dollar furniture and they "can't". In fact I told them to source on EBAY and they thought I was crazy.
  • @carriew172
To succeed, I believe you need a strong belief in yourself :) The ability to think outside the box. Also the ability to change directions if needed 😀
  • Adapt and overcome. It's a necessity in almost every facet of life. The key statement you said in the beginning Kevin is you love what you do, you love garage sale picking and your willing to do what it takes to protect what you love to do. You can't have unrealistic expectations and be unwilling to learn and grow, if nothing changes then nothing changes. We all get into a funk from time to time. I have to remind myself constantly that I may have the lenses in my glasses backwards, perhaps I'm magnifying the problem and focusing less inwards for the solution. eBay will always be eBay, Goodwill will always be goodwill, there will always be obstacles prior to progress, but if it means enough to you and your willing to adapt and overcome there will always inevitably be progress.. Ehhh but what do I know I'm just an old man. lolll
  • @lesliecpf
Interesting that the resellers that have large youtube followers are turning to selling in wholesale bulk.
  • @MrSaddie123
I think a helpful video might be "What are you doing when times are good?" I feel like a lot of people may be setting themselves up for hard times by making bad decisions in good times instead of planning for the latter, If you find yourself struggling every time business slows down you probably need to make some changes within your business imo. TFS Friend!
  • @CM0211
I haven't had a huge dip in sales, but I am re-evaluating my store. I find myself starting to niche down in certain areas. I am starting to bundle more and more. I enjoy that aspect of selling. I think this is all part of growing as a person and a business, seeing what works and what doesn't and making changes to continue in a positive manner. As far as the post office, they face the same challenges as most households - how to balance inflation, pensions, labor costs, fuel prices, maintenance on vehicles and buildings, etc. I think they made a huge positive step with adding Ground Advantage. This has saved me a bunch in shipping costs and definitely took many of my sales away from UPS. People will always find something to complain about. My dad used to tell me the story of my grandfather. He came through Ellis Island as a young boy, the ship's manifest read 'peasant' - well, he almost died from sickness as a young boy, but grew up to own a grocery market and gas station and survive through the rationing during WW2, become the town's bank president, and serve on the zoning board. I was taught to persevere and plow through and stop blaming others for my failures. I am in charge of my own destiny.
  • @Nostalgia4sell
The problem I see with buying another sellers bulk lots is they will, more times than not, already have been looked through and cherry picked to the point where the buyer receives a bulk lot of unsellable junk. In a perfect world your idea would work especially if the seller has to video the lot before selling but that doesn't take into consideration the items condition (I guess it all comes down to if the sellers providing these bulk lots are honest). The blowback will eventually all go to you in the end so you need to decide if this will be worth it in the long run. Great show as always.
