Not me accidentally scheduling this to post at 1AM instead of 1PM 🤦🏻‍♀️ my brain is fried
  • Just a tip. Woodburner usually have air vents on the bottom front. If you shut the air intake a bit the fire won’t be so roaring and eat up your wood so fast at night. If nothing else, you can shut down the damper on the stove pipe some and it will do the same thing. Advice from a person who had the night shift, adding wood to keep us warm all night. ❤😊🎄

Is it just me or does blue look so much better. He’s like a new dog despite the cancer. I pray our little guy kicks cancers ass❤
  • @illiniwood
Drove me crazy that you didn't look for the breaker box and turn the power on. Plus, every wood burning stove has an air damper. I'm sure it's left wide open between guests so that moisture doesn't gut rust the stove out. BTW, you need an oil heater, AND a block heater. Both that can run on a secondary DC battery and AC power. If you can only choose one, get the oil heater. Don't get the one made in China, get one made in U.S.A. or Germany.

The fact you went to Alaska without installing a block heater and diesel heater is absolutely crazy 😮
  • There's a main breaker switch outside the cabin somewhere to turn the power, they put there for fire prevention. They can shut off entire grids but not what is in your cabin. They do this here in colorado.

This is such a uplifting video from my freaking hospital bed. I wish I could be camping 🏕 😕 😪
  • I ❤ how Bubby takes such a vested interest in EVERYTHING that you do! I know he has passed and I am so so sorry you have lost your best friend and reckless travel companion! I pray that your new rezzy pup will bring as much joy on your travels as your precious Blue! I found this verse written on a note card, in my local post office! I was going (and still am) through a difficult season. Psalm 124:8 "Our help is in the LORD, who made heaven and earth! " Safe travels!
  • Those land rovers we used in the British military, turn on the ignition twice before starting,( allows the glow pug to get extra hot) and pump the gas pedal several times
  • My daughter just told me she is glad she grew up in a house heated with a wood stove. She now is the best fire starter in the city she moved to. 😂 Burns are a hazard of wood heat for sure. I keep an aloe plant close at hand. Blu looks like he is feeling pretty good. Hope his treatments continue to help him.❤😊

Cool cabin. I highly recommend learning how a dampener works on a wood stove. That’ll help keep you warm during the night. Also, you may have had to turn the breaker on in order to get your lights and outlets to work. Recommend following the conduit and seeing if it leads to a breaker panel.
  • @qsaqwoke
You and the outdoor boys would be a perfect duo
  • @welawisdom
I LOVE your facial expressions! I’m always laughing out loud (literally!) 🎉 Looking for the coffee now. Keep safe!
  • The vibe you love is a warm cabin on a seriously cold night, instead of being inside a car! Oh, and your dog is excited because he has more than a couple feet of space to walk around in.
  • @joelaimone1325
I've never come across your channel before. I love it! First , I've never seen anyone who loves and is aware of the emotional potential of their dog child. Secondly, I too made a maiden voyage up to the Arctic Circle with my yellow lab and a KLR650 motorcycle. I lived in Eagle River, AK, for 16years working at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. The owner of the store and gas station just south of the Yukon River let me park my 25" RV and KLR650. I then drove my motorcycle to the AC. I am so impressed with your achievements.

I don't know how you stand all that cold weather! -11 is way too cold for me! I'm more of a warm weather kind of girl, but I sure like watching you and Blue enjoy your adventures!!! That coffee you got sounds like it's delicious YUMMY ❤ EDIT: - 20 Brrrrrrrrr !!!!
  • @TheOtherBill
Do a search for (and learn about) wood stove damper. You can regulate the damper and air intake so it won't get too hot and also to make the fuel last longer overnight. Also, any auto parts store up there will have a vehicle battery heater you can plug into the Jackery.
  • I was literally just thinking how calming it would be to have a new RR video to watch and lo and behold posted 4 minutes ago. 😁
