As a little closeted white boy growing up in South Texas, I remember in the early 90's flipping thru the channels on cable and coming across BET.  Up until then I never thought about R&B music much, but when I happened to switch the channel to BET, they were playing Mary's first video, 'Real Love'...I remember sitting there watching it and instantly falling in love with Mary and R&B and have loved it ever since then!  Thank you Miss Mary for opening me up to a whole new genre of music...you'll always be the Queen of R&B as far as I'm concerned!  :-)
