Thor: Ragnarok in 2017 completely reinvented the God of Thunder, who, after Thor: The Dark World– many thought had become a pretty boring character. Since Ragnarok was such a hit, it seems like Taiki Waititi was given free reign to do whatever he wanted for the sequel 5 years later.

Thor: Love and Thunder raises a lot of questions though. Like did Thor Odinson get dumber? How many times are these goats going to scream? Can we see Gorr the God Butcher butcher some gods sometime? Was that Guardians of the Galaxy tease in Endgame really just for the intro of this movie? If Gorr thought all gods only cared about themselves, why did he assume they would rescue children?

To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Thor: Love and Thunder! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

  • The point about Gorr kidnapping the kids to get the gods to come despite believing gods don't care about anyone else is a really solid one.
  • @shadowbat2095
This movie feels like it was specifically made so Ryan could make a Pitch Meeting out of it.
  • @Infinite160
I found it odd that Gorr and Jane Foster where about as good as fighting as Thor. Who has literally thousands of years of fighting experience.
  • The "guy w child soldiers vs guy who thinks gods should be nicer to people" line killed me.
  • @wilcee238
The part that got me was after Thor promised Gorr that he’d protect his daughter, he immediately uses her as a child soldier against an alien horde.
  • Christian bale's acting as Gorr is what kept me into the movie. The Gorr side of the story felt like an entirely separate movie, a movie that I'd rather watched honestly.

“Hey Shutup” is 100% what is said when producers question anything at Disney. 😂
  • @Koko92553
"I would like to see that. NO. Ah, dang it." This is killing me 🤣🤣🤣
  • @snelldor1474
Do you want to know wasted potential? Just imagine if Gorr actually used Asgard’s dark buried history to explain on why all the gods need to die. Odin being a conqueror, Hela being the goddess of death, Loki being the god of lies and trickery, and there’s Thor, who used to crave the thrill of battle.
  • Everytime the writer says "Hey shut up" in these marvel pitch meetings, when a stupid plot point is said, I feel like this is exactly what happens in the official meetings.
  • This guy had to count the times goats screamed lol. Points for dedication
  • @H3M0N
It truly infuriates me that we never saw Groot and Korg meet... a giant rock monster, meeting a giant tree... what missed dialogue.
  • @46sn29
Thor peaked in Infinity War. I still remember the crowd screaming in the theatre when he arrived in Wakanda with Stormbreaker. THAT is the Thor we want to see. A powerful hero who overcomes adversity and continues to do what is right depite everything that he has lost. Not a bumbling cartoon meathead. You can have humor with Thor but not at the expense of the character himself. Too much humor and it becomes a parady, not a performance.
  • @EnderEYEx
Damn Gorr entering the god counsil and obliterating people would have been AMAZING
  • @SpartasEdge
As a huge Thor fan, i can say that Thor-Love & Thunder exeeded all my expectations, at how bad it was going to be... Well: Taika Waititi said it sounded like a movie that Thor fans would hate, and it seems you delovered on that assessment. well done 👍

Ryan missed something. Storm Breaker was crafted recently, but yet it is the key to a place made a long long time ago.
  • When fighting Thanos, it might have helped if Thor gave his powers to his many mortal friends.
  • Watching Pitch Meetings as soon as I see them in my feed is tight!

One thing that really bugged me as well was the fact you needed the bifrost to access eternity. Like Eternity is a separate entity outside of Gods, like equal to that of the Watcher. but yet requires the power of a Norse God to access? it just makes Stormbreaker into a McGuffin of the entire movie
  • The part about the child soldiers AND gorr taking children were really solid
