Born to brag about having big hands; forced to review a game console for children

This sure is a “Scott shows off how big his hands are for 18 minutes” episode.

“I love my 3DS but my hands are just too fucking huge!” - some Nintendo employee circa 2012

The 3DS XL tasted way better than the standard 3DS. This was a tremendous upgrade!

Just remember, there’s like 500 different special editions of this damn system

Core memory of mine is that I finally got a 3DS in Cosmo Red as a reward from my dad for doing well in school as I'd urged him all year about it, and then literally the next week the 3DS XL was announced in the Nintendo Direct

When I was in middle school, I remember finally convincing my parents to buy me a 3DS XL. They got it in January of 2015... One month before the New 3DS. Still hurts to this day.

Memory of mine: My Dad said he would get me a Nintendo 3DS when I was 11. But Christmas that year, I was 7, and unwrapped the Nintendo 3DS XL in blue. My Dad went "Whaaaaat? You're not 11!" And I just said "Uh, yes I am!" I don't think I could ever be that cool again.

i just realized that scott is probably not laying down on his stomach filming these videos
  • If Scott's gaming shame was getting a DSi while he still had a perfectly fine DS Lite just because of a camera, mine was getting a NEW 3DS XL while I still had a perfectly working 3DS just because of SNES games. I honestly forgot that there even was a vanilla 3DS XL.
  • 3DS XL way my favourite 3DS model Stylus was in the right spot, L + R and circle pad were big, Start, Select and Home were in the best place, volume slider was in easy reach. And the SD card wasn't in an absolutely unreachable spot. It was the best model imo

I think when the phrase "I have big hands" was as common as it was, the people saying it probably actually had average size hands and the 3DS was just too small all around
  • @DeafeningCha
What's funny is that despite each new 3DS iteration becoming physically larger, the boxes got smaller.

I missed the whole 3DS era sadly. I was in my teenage edgy "Nintendo is dumb I only want gritty and gorey shooters" era during that time, but in 2020 I picked up a used 3DS XL off of ebay so I could play some of the stuff I missed, and I had a good time with it! Only issue I had is that at one point the top half of the circle pad stick broke off and just completely crumbled. I was able to glue the actual rubber pad back on the stick at least without too much issue or mess, but now it feels a bit off whenever I play since the upper half of the circle is missing. Still more than playable at least, and other than that it's worked very nicely for me

10:46 "Killing a bug underneath a tissue" is the perfect descriptor for these
  • @SEMIA123
He has big hands and owns sonic CD? Truly blessed.
  • Ahh man the memories. When I was 11 I remember spotting this hidden in the basement 4 months before christmas. It was the longest wait ever.
  • @funnyxusername
This was the first 3DS that I ever got for myself, and I must say...... I wish I had gotten a New 3DS
