Jony Ive is such a deep, relaxing person. He is very passionate about what he does.
-
Both, Jony and J.J are not just artists and great at what they do, but they're both highly intelligent.
-
This talk gives new meaning to "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen."
-
Jony Ive should narrate stories. His voice is soothing.

I really think you either love or hate the way Jony talks. But that's the same with his designs and what makes him so attractive. At the beginning I found listening to him really tedious but as it went on I was fascinated by how passionate and honest he is. Truly one of a kind, never known anyone like him.

Powerful stuff. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
-
The interviewer seemed much more interested in JJ than Jony. Tsk tsk.

I come back to this video about once a year to rewatch it in full. There are so many awesome tidbits of creative advice, and interesting perspectives. Glad VF has kept it online, in full, for so long.

Jony Ive: “The majority of our manufactured environment is characterized by carelessness. Everything that has been made has a biography to it, there is a story to it. It exists at the end of a whole bunch of decisions and most of those decisions were driven by price and schedule. We have genuinely tried to make products that do not stand testament to that sort of development process or to those values. Rather, they stand testament to us desperately trying to make the very best products we can because we know someone like JJ is going to sit down and stare at this screen and he will sense, he will not be able to articulate it, but we hope he will be able to sense the care that went into it and I do believe that we are capable of discerning of far more than we are able to articulate.”
