  • They made Starfox's legs metal cause they didn't know how to make the actual animal legs look good. Since fox is a fox they would have to give him fox legs, and slippy is a frog he had to have frog legs and etc. So they just made them all the same by making them metal robot legs. You can find Miyamoto talk about this in some interviews. "I wonder why people aren't asking how fox can sit in his chair even though he has a tail"

5 years later Nice to meet you... Starfox 2!
  • The music on the first level of the SNES version always gets me so psyched!
  • @kylgrv
Even though I'm not sure whether the metal leg theory is true or not, I find it intriguing, not to mention shocking.
  • I wish this video had “(OLD)” in the title, because it would mean there would be at least SOMETHING that has recently came out about Star Fox

I wanna see a Star Fox game that focuses on Wolf's side, like his backstory and stuff...

Did you know: The Star Fox series has a more dynamic and epic feel in its Japanese games? The voice acting in both Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Assault were handled by the same cast, and were done in the style of an action-oriented television serial, like the puppet serials Miyamoto was inspired by, i.e. Thunderbirds. It's dramatic and even serious at times...so why is it so corny in Star Fox 64? That's because of the way it was localized here in the states. The voice acting was some of the first done on a Nintendo Console, and as a result, it was cheesy and primitive. Finally, Star Fox Assault came out, and Nintendo of America saw that the game and its Japanese counterpart actually relied on its more serious take on the story (given the plot and direction of the game). So they called in new voice actors to give the game a little more serious and substantial tone. As a result, these "new" style of voices have become the standard now seen for the characters in games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where Fox is still played by his Assault VA, Jim Walker, and the other VA's for Falco and Wolf imitate the style of voices for their respective depictions in Assault.

I like the idea that they amputated the legs in order to not pass out, dark stuff is awesome for the story telling sometimes.

lol G-diffuser system is so the arwing doesn't get destroyed by strong gravitational forces

I find fox mcloud looks pretty creepy on the snes box art of starfox
  • The Virtual Boy Star Fox thing was known internally as "Star Fox: Red Zone" and was pretty much only intended as a tech demo. Nintendo might've attempted a Star Fox game on the Virtual Boy had it not bombed so spectacularly, but what was seen at E3 '95 was nothing but a demo.
  • @cinderdog
Robotic legs? I always thought they were metal boots!
