Hello! This is going to be a series of videos I'm going to be making when I have some time. It's about the worst Dungeons and Dragons games that I've run. This is one main story when I ran a game for a convention and two other smaller stories from me getting assigned modules. Hope you guys enjoy!

End music: "Sunshine Samba" by Chris Haugen

Player : “I want to roll for insight” Dm : “Yeah same”
  • I feel like a module saying 'kill 45 minutes with smalltalk' is not a good module
  • @leonb8991
“I don’t wanna trash the module too much, so I’m gonna fudge some details” in other words, the module is so horrifically bad, describing the actual scene feels like slander.
  • @CyberKirby
I have a theory. This module was created by a really lonely person who just wanted to trap a bunch of people and talk to them for 1-2 hours.
  • @bezretmet
half the old puffin fans watching this video (remembering the old vids): THOSE WERE THE GOOD GAMES?!!!!
  • @ArcaneSorceror
"I made an AL module!" "Is it good? Does it stand by itself?" "I made an AL module!" "... Is the module coherent? Do you need to know about any other AL-" "I made an AL module!"
  • @XtoverusRex
And this is why I refuse to ever run an AL game. If I'm gonna run an incoherent rambling mess, it's gonna be MY incoherent rambling mess!
  • @CptOriginal
This doesnt sound like a mistake, this sounds like a terrible module.

Act One: Burn 45 minuets of a two hour slot. Act Two: Burn 25 more minutes. Act Three: Run into a wall.
  • You know, this con schedule sounds less like a convention, and more like High School.

"I made an AL module!" "Is it good?" "Let's not get ahead of ourselves."

"Justin Case" is an NPC I created to stir up trouble when I hit a snag. He usually steals from the PCs and I can get him to lead them anywhere.

I love explaining my backstory to random people for 45 minutes. That's a very human thing to do, right?
  • As a DM, this is where you say to your players, "Right. I didn't read this module well enough, and turns out it's stupid. We're going to make something up here."
  • As someone who has run an entire campaign of mystery-solving adventures, and also as someone who has played in organized play stuff for nearly 20 years, it is quite vexing how NO ONE writing the mystery adventures for organized play knows how to write a mystery! I remember playing one game in Living Greyhawk that was supposed to be a mystery, and it was likewise garbage. Time was up and we had no idea who the bad guy was because it was so bad, but we had to pick someone or like 100 people would die. So I say "f- it guys, Scooby Doo rules. First NPC the module introduced to us is probably the bad guy." So we pick that guy. I was right. There was literally no evidence indicating that it was him, either.

“Must have been that bush” is now my new fav way of saying something is really really stupid
  • @astanex4662
I'm starting to get why Ben's brother called it "the sadness."
  • @ThatBluDude
I'm still pretty new to DnD but I'm PRETTY SURE when the instructions are to "Burn 45 minutes of time" it means you have yourself a bad module.
  • "Has this bush always been here?" "Yes, I have." "Well, the bush would know."
