Anthony vs Colin: Which Bridgerton Is the Better Romantic Lead?

Anthony is the best main lead in the series and Jonathan Bailey gave by far the strongest performance

I love both Bridgerton Boys, but Anthony slightly gets the edge over Colin, due to his character growth.

Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton easily wins, that man has an insane amount of charm 😍

I can see the appeal of both, but DJ Colin is my man. My soft boy. Mr Worldwide, completely unhinged and feral when in love. A man who runs after carriages, who dances in empty churches, who is insane enough to ALMOST fuck his lady love in the middle of the fucking street. Published author Colin Bridgerton is my main man 🥰 That's not to say Anthony is not great, but.... Anthony insisting on courting Edwina while lusting for Kate, then almost marrying Kate's sister, and before that saying he would not control himself and cheat on his wife with her, that's just not for me. Might be for some people, but not for me.

It's Anthony for me because of his passion and character growth. I was touched by his suggested idea to Kate regarding the birth of their child towards the end of S3 Part 2. It shows how much he wanted to honor Kate's heritage as well.

I hate the question. They are both great and very different.

Anthony went from being one of my least favorite characters to my favorite in one season. They turned him from an annoying and spineless brat who slept around to someone very human, very sympathetic and someone who you understand fully why he behaves the way he does even if you don’t agree with him. And his journey to heal from losing his Dad and finally letting himself accept happiness with Kate is a very beautiful story. Anthony has a very great character arc and his I love you to Kate is earned, meaningful and has so much emotion behind it given everything they’ve been through. Colin on the other hand had three seasons to be relevant and they failed to do that. Two seasons I watched him be a complete dumbass with no self respect or development. The show did not care about him at all. So by the time it was his turn, it was a very forced and rushed catch up and it doesn’t feel earned. Season 2 is still the best season and Season 3 was a mediocre mess.

Anthony, in large part due to him actually feeling like the lead in his own season, whereas Colin feels more like a sidecharacter in season 3.

There is no competition in my opinion. Anthony of course!!!

I will die on Anthony’s hill. I will watch that season a million times over but this season was a one and done for me. I felt zero chemistry between them. Had no clue why everyone was going crazy over them. Anthony and Kate forever.

I hate when everyone keeps thinking that Colin was avoiding Pen....Pen asked Colin for space, she didn't want the gossip to affect his family, so she asked him to stay away....which he obliged. There are so many things that people just overlook because they aren't paying attention and then complain about. Especially Colin's whole "rake" persona and him being lonely...so many people think that Colin just turned into a rake overnight just because....even though it was spelled out like a thousand times in the show that it was an act to try and harden himself after all his heartaches and to fit in with the rest of the ton. I liked S2 but honestly Anthony just came off so selfish and he hurt so many people, which is why I really like Colin the most. He is sweet and sensitive and yes, he said 1 mean thing to Pen, but all the other times he was just honest and just didn't realize his love for her. That doesn't make him dense or stupid, just not emotionally ready yet. People complain that Colin should have known....well Pen could have also told him her feelings for him too. It takes two to tango! LOL

Hands down Anthony, more deep character traits

Season 2 continues to be my favorite

Penolope: "I could die and it would kill me. Colin: "But you would already been dead"...Lol!😂😂😂. Also, in Colins defense in regards to heroism, there's something to be said when you are picked for a dance. He did that from Cressida mean drink spill on Penolope. Colin saved her from social humiliation. The dread one feels when you are not picked to dance!! I LOVE Colin for that scene!!

Colin. Just on a very objective level, though Anthony`s growth and passion are tremendous and worthy of praise, Colin will always be the more romantic pick for the simple fact that his troubles are not grand. They`re relatable. To be completely honest, Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley kill it as Anthony and Kate. Were it not for that, the whole triangle would`ve been seen as what it is - VERY messy. Colin, for all his faults - is the only Bridgerton brother I`D truly be with, as he`s kind, funny, emotionally INTELLIGENT(when it`s not about him) and aware of his faults. He`s quick to apologize and does so without any ego. He makes me feel safe when I look at him. He`s just a different type of leading man, one who fits my personal sensibilities better.

I hope that Benedict gets the next season. He deserves to have more time to shine.

Colin all the way. Yah a lot of people will choose Anthony because girls prefer the bad boy to good boy trope. Girls like story that they were the one who change the man. But the good thing about Polin is that they did not change but rather they just help each other blossom. Colin is a husband material affectionate yet firm. Caring yet with principles. He genuinely listens to Penelope and consult her. And man consent he always ask for consent and that is sooooo sexy. Colin all the way!
