I fully expect that soon-to-be-Debby will become a hurricane before reaching Florida late tomorrow night or early Monday. We will have live cams and data from the region beginning later today.

  • Gonna be strong definitely over the gulf now!! Stronger then Beryl
  • I don't like what I am seeing what TD 4 can do. Does it stall, and if so that can result in significant rainfall.
  • While the GFS has done the best job (I believe) with the development of this system, the European has been the most consistent in wanting to stall the system off the southeast coast for a couple of days before moving it back inland. Most other models GFS, Canadian, ICON had taken the system off the southeast coast and out to sea until they started joining the Euro camp.
  • I highly recommend watching the tracking the storms vids it’s been awhile but I’ve watched all marks old vids of them chasing great videos the one where y’all anchored that think was a yellow Isuzu rodeo out by the water and had cams set up in it was cool hard to believe how far technology come along since then
  • I wonder if people look out their windows, see people kayaking down their street, and think to themselves “oh they’re just hyping it up”
  • @jsciarri
Had no idea Mike Seidal is at Fox Weather now. He was on The Weather Channel for decades and if I remember right he covered the Joplin EF5 tornado right after it happened.
  • Possible category 2 or 3 hurricane cannot be ruled out yet at this time especially because of the record warm water before landfall in Florida. Could be more problematic if that happens not only for Florida, but also the Carolinas and perhaps on north to Atlantic Canada depending on its long-range track.
  • I think the worst impacts from this system will actually be in the Carolinas based on the latest information. Am I right on that?
  • @islandblind
Have a nice time in Victoria, BC, Mark. It's a beautiful city, even if it's ridiculously expansive to live there.
  • @Randy-nk2ne
It's gonna be a heavy onshore flow day.any possibility this becomes a category 6. Debbie does north florida.

  • I hate to nerd out for a second, but could you imagine if the Suwannee current still existed and there was an open runway where the projected path is? 1:40
