Hey everyone! thanks for all the likes and support. Let me know your favourite obscure Meshugga tunes so I can check them out. I know bleed and clockwork but other than that, nothing. 🤗😃😃😃METAL!!!!!
  • @Kerosian1
If smooth jazz implies the existence of rough jazz. Meshuggah is just rough jazz.
  • @str11pes
a jazz drummer learning meshuggah! hit that like button

What really blows my mind with this song is that it sounds better live then on the studio album. Tomas is a frickin machine.
  • Tomas himself said this song took as long for him to learn as the rest of the whole ObZen album together. They write their music on the computer with EZ drummer (or an offspring of that) So he has to learn all the songs after writing them (This one was written by the gitarist, Fredrik Thordendal)

That drum kit was seen later out the back having a cigarette !!!
  • I see a lot of these "jazz drummer reacts to metal" videos, but just once, I'd like to see it the other way around.
  • @AmosEstes
Clockworks drum cam is fantastic as well!
  • You hit the nail on the head. A lot of people think this is in some weird time, but it’s just 4/4. It shows you how a great musician can make even the most basic pattern sound wildly complex.

Bleed is cool, but check out Clockworks next time. Legendary playthrough.
  • Speaking of Swedish bands, have you checked out Opeth? They require a quite versitile drummer since their style varies alot. Im not a drummer myself though. A good start is Ghost of Perdition live at Red Rocks Amphieteater or Reverie/Harlequinn Forest live at Royal Albert Hall. 😊

Holy shit. My soul, my being knew there was a groove in this track and I was bouncing with it but I couldn’t put my finger on it before you pointed out the quarter note overtop everything else. Incredible
  • If had 1 million dollar, I would pay you to record this kind of video every single day ❤❤ Very good reaction teacher
  • Hey Matt thanks for another real cool cideo. Didn't hear a long time Meshugga but love them . And there are some awesome drummer in the metal world out there. Maybe you can react to Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater, but I don't know if there are some playtrought's or only solos from him. And thanks for your two tippps. If you have more great Jazzbands with great drummer I'm glad to learn to know them. Cheers from switzerland.

They still do it good live as well! Saw them last year and they’re still tight as all hell. A bit rough towards future breed machine (closing song with a mental end to it) but overall amazing show. Future breed machine is a older track from them and the one that got me hooked ages ago, dope song that one! Oh and also great react dude, just pure respect for the skill that this is. Hope you get 2000 likes because at least you got a like and sub from me👍

The snare version of bleed is a song called Nostrum and Tomas has a drum cam version of the recording.. it’s glorious and well worth watching as a drummer.. and yes Clockworks as well..
