A cheap led flashlight would have done miracles for this informative video
  • Well, I congratulate you on this "not so easy" job. I guess if at first, you had known to let the vehicle rest on stands before tightening those bolts, it could have saved you some. I have the same van with 3.3L. These videos do help other mech's and the saturday mech too. However, I wish everyone would be specific in bolts, nut size, as well as tools and methods used in the descriptions. Some FYI, that can help future readers of this type job; That 21mm bolt that didn't loosen, those (and all) have to be sprayed with penetrating oil from under within openings in the chassis and let oil work its magic before attempting to loosen bolts. So pretty much there are 10x21mm bolts, about 8x15mm, an 18mm and 2x10mm bolts to contend with. I will be also using an electric 1/2" impact gun to shake the bolts loose some before using the breaker bar, unless they can loosen with it. Cheers.

No need to drop the transmission pan to get the front bolt out. Just put the floor jack under the pan (with a piece of wood in between) raise the transmission up just enough to clear the bolt head, it will come out.
  • THANK YOU I Couldn't figure out how to get the nut tight on the driver's side 🤣
  • Thank you cuz that's what I got to do to this town and country of mine thank you for showing me

Why Yes, this video was a TREMENDOUS help. While I would never even think about doing this job myself, it confirmed that I would be very happy to pay someone else to do it. But I was quoted a price for each lower control arm of $168. I have the same vehicle, make and year...2005 Chrysler Town and Country, 3.8 L. That's $336 just for the parts. A quick look so far tells me that's a high price. What say you?
