Zarna's expression on coming out from under being a stay at home Mom is so true. I felt that I could not be productive again. Sixteen years of being put down as a stay at home Mom - to becoming the primary 'bread' winner. Actually I was not paying for the bread. I was paying the rent & utilities. He was supposed to pay for the food. He quit doing that as well. In forty years of marriage I went from homemaker full time Mom to full time everything. So I told him: If I have to support the family you can iron your own damn shirts. If I have to pay for the roof over our heads you need to pitch in & help in our home. If I am providing the transportation to & from school plus work outside of the apartment you HAVE to be a parent who shows up for our daughters' plays & our son's sports. If I have to keep the 'home fires burning' while you go overseas to visit your family you have to admit you should have married from home - a subservient little wife who lets you be the 'man' of the family. Instead you married an American woman you tried to treat as subservient until you decided I would have to go back to work to provide for the family. Zarna hit the nail on the head women can do & be it all except father those children HE is supposed to be responsible for.

What a great story. Zarna is hilarious.. Love love love her.. Zoya is the symbol of Indian daughterhood.. we prize our mothers in a way that is unique.. we don’t just expect sacrifices and support FROM our mothers.. we support and make sacrifices FOR our mothers..
