NGL, I don’t think resets being used as a skip mechanic should be a thing that everyone uses. Whats the point in being good at driving if you’re just gonna use skips half the time. Its a racing game not an exploit-fest
  • @Misterr_Tickles
We’re really condoning resets? Come on y’all…It’s sad to see that the current meta encourages the ignorance of core racing aspects like braking points, proper cornering, general car control etc…it seems like a skill issue for those who use resets as a crutch to win. Nothing skillful about it.
  • @jahvongrey5663
they need to make resets more punishing to the driver, so that they can't be used to skip turns.
  • @YaBoy_Eddie
I have to respectfully disagree with you on the resets part. I know that resets exist and know the benefits of using resets. I only use the resets when I over shoot a corner, when I miss a checkpoint or when I get knocked off course by someone. The people who are beating me, are the ones who are spamming the resets all throughout the race. The only way for me to beat these people is to abuse the resets just like them which I refuse to do. I'd rather race properly than to abuse an in game mechanic.
  • @ddwald27
We are not gonna act like resets that give you a advantage is ok im sure it wasn't intended to be used that way.
  • @jordansis0257
While I do think motorfest is mostly fair, I do wish they could fix the reset exploit as that doesn’t belong in a racing game. I really don’t have a problem with shortcuts as it is something found I plenty of racing games and I really like the shortcuts that are high risk high reward as it really tests your skills
  • @robertreyes3109
Yeah resets is the one thing I have most issue with because it defeats the purpose of a difficult corner (where most of these resets take place) that challenges your driving ability to take that corner properly. I would say that it feels way more satisfying to win races due to your driving skill rather than a gimmick.
  • @ozfh
Another thing that you missed thats unfair is clutch. Some cars (even meta, 911gt for example) shift extremely slow and with clutch theyre an absolute rocketship. If youre on console the only way to use clutch is wheel and hshifter, controller players have no option to use it. On pc you can use clutch on any input and its a macro so all you have to do is shift up and down like its sequential.

If you lose traction or get stuck or being rammed and you reset, that’s fine because it’s how it means to be used. But if you just crash into the wall and reset without any punishment, it’s really a problem. I’m sure that’s not how the devs want players to play a RACING game. We are racing and should learn how to take corners correctly, instead of throw the car into the wall and just reset. Mistakes should not be rewarded. The devs should set the initial speed to be 0 after reset in order to avoid these intentional resets. The shortcuts also lie on the similar situation. I understand arcade racing game encourages people to take shortcut and that’s how IVT done in playlists and grand race. You can see AI cars take shortcuts in some playlists. I’m totally fine with most of them since it adds lots of joy to the game. But the tremendous shortcuts in recent Summits had just gone too far. It’s not fun to drive a hypercar through 20 secs in forest or on grass. Some of them are just simply against people’s intuition and the experience is not enjoyable.
  • Shortcuts are fine although they can be kind of annoying having to look them up for the summit, but the reset stuff def does not belong in a racing game, just a straight up exploit. Also wheel mode seriously needs to be addressed, it cant be fixed by turning off crossplay either since everybody has it on by default and very few people even know about wheelmode on console
  • It's not fair knowing that only PC players have "wheel input" where the turning response is immaculately faster than normal console controllers. This is unfair and it needs to be fixed
  • @snipethm
I agree with you aside from the resets. Resets may be “fair” since everyone can learn to perform them, but its not something that a racing game needs. If you’re performing resets to avoid difficult or slow corners I think you need take your own advice and play a different game. Why you would play a racing game with the intent to cheese difficult sections of races doesn’t really make sense to me. I mean this respectfully of course, but when I see people using resets thats a clear indication of lack of skill. Sure it takes some skill to reset properly, but can you make this corner? And if so then just do it.
  • @paddyod16
I don't like resets and don't use them. I think it's goofy as hell to divebomb into a hairpin at 200mph and smash into the wall only to get going ahead of where you just decided to smash into a wall. But I don't care if players want to be goofy. I just don't understand why there are tight turns on the tracks with checkpoints in them at all. Either the checkpoint should be further ahead or there should just not be hairpin turns if the developers don't intend for you to drive through them. For shortcuts, some of them are fun, but are they all intentional? Did IVT design these summit races where you jump off a mountain to cut out a huge portion of the track?
  • @WisestMorty
The easiest way to avoid people abusing meta cars is just adding more competitive cars. In fh5 Alevel, boneshaker used to dominate the whole level. But right now there are about 20 cars at the same level and some are even better. So when playing online race you are not supposed to see much boneshaker except a few rookies drive it. Unfortunately the gap between meta cars and others in tcm is kinda huge, except st2 and hyper cars we have about 10 competitive cars.
  • Used to think that getting high up in a lot of the events was such a crazy long shot away, but following some of the shortcuts of this channel and just getting better, I found myself learning the physics of the game so much faster and getting first in Grand Races commonly now if not top 3 easily.
  • @ckboy221
What's wild is seeing people go 450 mph through speed traps, the insane scores in summits is also ridiculous. Exploits need to be addressed. The top 250 players in each summit is definitely not legit, way too much that can ruin the game for someone playing for fun.
  • @Levi1990Smith
Tbh if people spent more time concentrating on racing rather than ramming the experience would be wildly different for the lesser skill level drivers. I would say im above average and have a balanced experience once the rammers are out of sight. Also pro tuning has a majot impact. Many times i see "META" cars struggle against a well tuned alternative
  • Agree with everything except using resets. How is it even fun to use that mechanic? Defend it all you like but it's the main reason I choose not to play this game any more.
  • @Mike-1000
Firstly ... I like your channel ..... BUT .... I'm finding it hard to believe you genuinely believe resets are a good thing.
  • @steveed3667
Resets were not meant to be abused as they are. Resets are meant to get you back on the track, not to give an advantage. This is a "cheat." When a car is reset, it should start at the point it was reset at a dead stop. Not reset at the same speed it was traveling when it was reset. I agree with everything else you discussed in this video. But I think using resets to gain an advantage is a form of cheating because it is taking advantage of a broken issue in the game mechanics. Hopefully, it gets fixed.
