They aren’t even stepping down they are just becoming leaders for their company officially. Matpat is basically a ceo with free roam
  • @czms922
Yeah they literally experienced the highs and lows of YouTube

Plus, I'd rather see then willingly put a end to their career rather than forcibly, either from sickness (RIP Techno and Lynda) or because they forgot what the age of concent is (y'all already have exemples).

Yeah is pretty sad but I understand their side especially with the case with matpat all we could do is support their choice to go into retirement and show the love and kindness they gave us for years it’s only fair

A lot of these Ytubers who are retiring have been around since the start of YT. They paved the way for new content creators to grow & flourish. After a decade of doing this, they deserve a break while letting the new gen of YTubers take over. This is a cycle that has, & will always happen for pretty much anything you can think of.

I’m most sad about Jocat. It wasn’t like he retiring, he (along with his family) were actively doxxed, threatened and bullied off YouTube.

My grandfather was a roofer for 30years, he retired because he couldn’t be on a black roof in 90 degree weather anymore. But it makes sense YouTubers are quitting because of the toll YouTube takes on them.

When people treat it as a job, people have to expect them to retire at some points.

I just see this era as a transition. I always knew someday YouTubers like Matpat were eventually going to leave YouTube but I always told myself to enjoy what we have. It’s hurts to see him go but I’m glad I was there to watch his content and see him evolve over the years. It’s like the old saying, nothing lasts forever, and I’ve grown to accept that.
  • True words man, it’s the internet where people will hate just because and being a content creator who works on the internet day in day out has got to be taxing, content creators go through so much effort to create videos we the audience can enjoy
  • I think that the game theory should definitely retire. He’s been making theories for a very long time and even though it’s sad 😢 I’m still very happy for him 😊
  • Not to mention most of them have family, and i think moo said it best where he felt bad because he was always online, instead of being with his family and kid

I feel like this wave of retirement is a new generation coming. It’s a transitional period through which old creators are retiring due to having done this for so long and the rise of new creators. Coming up and entertaining us for years to come.
  • @MilkyMagee
Matpat and moo are the people I’m gonna miss the most who announced their leave so far

I had forgotten your series "SHE LEAVES ME WEEEEEEEEAK"

It's always sad seeing youtubers go but it's completely understandable and tho it's emotional to see them go I hope the best for them
  • @natus5494
It’s sad seeing people sad about YouTubers retiring instead of being happy that they are retiring and can now rest I’m glad they finally can relax
