  • A couple of guys were standing in a really bad place. They need to stay clear in case a chain, cable or something else breaks. God bless
  • A little hint. With this many people watching and helping. Hand-held air horns are a must. They can and WILL save a life. Someone sees anything wrong, one blast on the horn and everybody stops.

The guy running toward the tight cable, waving his arms....Darwin Award candidate.

Love the guy standing under the raised backhoe bucket. We call a bucket being in the air for no reason an "Asshole Magnet", and they are. It's amazing how, out of all the room on a job site, some people are just attracted to the spot under a bucket or suspended load.

As I’m watching the beginning of this pull I’m looking at all those bodies that are standing in probably some of the worse places they could be standing in, should anything (like a cable or that block) come apart with all that pressure that’s being put on all those things!

Cable snaps with those folks just standing around so close...Could be a bad day..I know you gents know this...Enjoyed watching.

Grew up in a construction family with heavy equipment. Started working with my dad when I was 10 and when he had to use a cable he made sure me and my brothers knew the danger if it broke. He once took a piece of cable about 6 foot long and laid down a watermelon and swung it so hard it cut it in two. He then look at us and said, "That was child's play compared to how fast that cable will come at you if it snaps. Just think of that watermelon has your head" LOL We stayed clear.

  • @JimBloggins1
You should always stand directly beside a cable under tension...

I always keep my track shoes over 50%. It amazes me how many machines I see running slicks.
  • good video /a lot of bosses doing what they do best.waveing there hands around /supprised and very lucky that someone was not cut in half by ropes breaking in half ./ all is well got it out and running CHEERS😃
  • I could not believe how deep it was in the water! you really know how to properly rig the equipment to be able to remove it from the water w/o damaging or tipping over. great job getter it done

Excellent piece of recovery, hope the engine on the excavator isn't damaged. I concur with what others say about keeping people out of the hazard zone if a cable/chain breakes.
  • A lot of Chiefs, an awful lot of Chiefs... i liked it when one of the Chiefs was yelling at the Excavator operator to shut her off, only to see the Excavator operator get it up and out of the water. Experts are generally only as clever as they assume they are!
