OC Transpo Bus Parade

Published 2010-07-19
A round of OC Transpo buses near MacKenzie King Bridge. Along the Transitway at rush hour, the action is almost nonstop.

Apparently, their Route 66 goes to Bells Corner...as opposed to the 59 on SEPTA....hahaha!

Actually I miss seeing the high floor transit buses in Ottawa ERA and that’s gone now especially GMC new look fishbowl transit buses and the GMG classic also and Orion v and New Flyers d40 and the MCI classic and last of all the Nova buses classic. It was so fun running on those buses through the late 80s and 90s until 2007. I heard that Oc transpo got rid of the high floor buses in 2011 I think.

I really miss the Orion Vs. Those were one of my favourite buses to ride. Some of them seemed to have gotten a recent rebuild by the time of your video (the ones with KFC top and maple leaf bottom such as 9821). Now the Inveros have started retiring! Time has went by so fast. I remember when these were relatively new back in 2008-2009 when I first started getting into OC Transpo.

Back in 2010, I spent an hour and a half at the transit center in downtown Windsor and got a sample of at least one of all the routes that serve it... I can't seem to post a video response, so I can only say that waaaaaaaaaaaay near the bottom of my playlist is the Windsor video...

I should get back there soon, and make a grab for the 2 and the other routes not serving downtown....

I did a segment a year ago that I posted here at Hurdman. I was there from 3:15pm to 4:00pm and in that 45 minutes of time, I was rolling camera for 40 minutes...

Most were also either just at the start or ends of their runs too.... I am betting they took on more riders deeper into downtown.

Kind of Curious? Do the Ottawa Busses Have A/C & Are they Used in the Summer? & Does OCTranspo Finally have Bike Racks on its Busses?
