Modern Warfare 3 (2023) has a lot of changes that the community are extremely happy to have: 150 health, more movement, red dots on the minimap, etc.

With 150 health and guns taking more time to kill generally, are shotguns overpowered? I also go over some of the unique attachments you should look out for in beta weekend 2 for the shotguns available.

  • Shotguns a lot of the time aren't op. People just get mad that they got killed in one shot. Snipers and shotguns are in the same boat a lot of the time with a few outliers in cod history.

I maxed out the 680 in the first week of the beta (sorry if I terrorized some of you guys) Some of the things i noticed were: the one shot range is very poor compared to what it probably should be (movement really doesn't help, as movement of any kind, I.e, jumping or sliding just makes your accuracy when aiming or hip firing terrible). The bolo rounds only fire 1 projectile (when it technically should fire 2). Getting kills with it is very satisfying, however the inconsistency on getting kills when you hit people head on is very strange, and even if you have it kitted for rechamber speed you almost never will be able to get a second shot off to kill them with. The iron sights are kinda goofy, but not terrible. And no matter what stock or grips you put on it the sprint to fire speed feels VERY VERY slow, even putting on the sawed off stock doesn't seem to change much (this might be for balancing purposes which is understandable, but not at the level it is at)

A whole new modern warfare trilogy and not a single spas-12 😢

Been maining shotguns since COD4, super glad to find this channel
  • Excellent content, keep up the good work! One thing I'd really like to see is a good distinction between Multiplayer and Warzone usage for shotguns. A lot of your guns are great for use in both, but you mostly present the guns for use in Warzone, and as an S&D player I have to point out there's far more builds and play styles that won't work in Warzone due to increased health and overall engagement distances of gunfights, but which are super fun to use in Multiplayer.

The Lockwood 680 does seem to be inconsistent even when you land a dead center shot in its effective damage range, so I’d say it needs a buff. The full auto shotgun is pretty balanced for its roll. The alternative ammo types seem to fit their rolls nicely except for that slug pellet combo. My only concern is how they will handle the dragons breath rounds. In MW2, they neutered the ammo type to destroy your gun. It only buffed your guarantee one shot kill range by about a meter and a half while cutting your mid-far damage range in half. Meaning you shouldn’t bother aiming down sights because you don’t really get a range benefit and your left with hip-fire which is not a big enough buff to make a noticeable difference in performance. On top of all that, the fire doesn’t even do enough damage to burn enemies to death unless you have a follow up shot. In which case the pump action shotguns will just kill the player with that second shot. Your left with the spam shotguns which have the worse of all ranges but they do just low enough damage on their second shot to allow the fire to burn a player.

Shotguns I would say are a tad underpowered. You could be right. Inconsistent

Im a shotgun user and I must say this has been the most fun I had with shotguns since BO2 especially that first one when u start adding attachments
  • Ngl- I thought the 680 was garbo, until I saw munkay burger boi running and gunning with it. Love that guy's commentary. Deadass. Now I use it and it's 1shot 70% of the time. Thanks munkay! I know you'll see this! Shotguns FOREVER!
  • @kidthekiddo8996
4:07 rechamber accuracy is if you shoot without moving, how close does the gun go back to your original aim point after rechambering. not that import i don’t think lol
  • @blankfiile
Hmm this is strange, i've been using the riveter with the ball attachment and getting great results over default ammo. I'm going full hipfire and i get considerably more range and consistency too than without this ammo. That silenced barrel is also how i use it, otherwise you get so much weapon flash you cant see anything
  • @mgt97PUN
Needs more consistency at in room distances. I get the fact that they decided to shorten up the ranges on shotgun buckshot but they should make them more consistent at close ranges as a trade off.
  • @darionakins9064
The 680 gives me hope for pump actions in warzone. You can boost its firerate alot!
  • I think with the current health increase to damage output gap, both of the shotguns coupd use a boost. It just doesnt feel right that you shoud have to shove the barrel into the enemy mouth in order to get a kill with a shotgun. In fact most of the guns feel weird with the increased TTK. Feels like playing airsoft with the amont of hits it takes. I know alot of people like it but in my opinion It makes everything feel ao weak.
  • @Bootlegsn1per
Even with the sprint to speed attachments the lockwood has a delay of about a second where you literally try shooting but nothing at all happens.
  • @omarsabeur9039
Goomie i swear the hit reg fluctuated with the shotty throughout the weekend . It did feel good about half the time
  • @user-su5fj3qz6y
Does someone knows how to hold your breath? Cuz there's a quest to make 3 kills while holding your breath, but i didnt find it in the settings. Who can say on which button is it doing?
